Vaser lipo for double chin - help - anyone had this done?
Hi,
Has anyone had vaser lipo for a double chin? I am petrified but intrigued as my chin has bothered me my whole life but haven't seen any real experiences on here for having the procedure on this area.
How long does it take, is it painful and most importantly, what is the recovery like? Is there much swelling or bruising and how long does it take to go down and get back to normal?
What were the results like and how long did it take to see them?
I am thinking of going to the Private Clinic in Harley Street - has anyone been there and do you have any recommendations?
Thanks to anyone who can help!!

Chin lipo
Hi Tracie,
After a lot of research and a lot of consultations,I had my chin done at Manchester at Skin Medical, they do have other locations. I can already see a difference with it and i only had it done 8 days ago. I did have a lot of bruising but that is expected, it was also quite swollen which is expected too. The process also wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be, it was numb and all I felt was tugging, but it didn't hurt. Hope this helps, but any questions, please just ask. Lisa x

Do not go to the selston clinic!
Dr Bassi has ruined my figure! I had my thighs done with Vaser and followed all pre and post operation guidance to the letter. I am now left with uneven thighs with too much fat taken out of one and not enough out of the other. I will probably have to pay for corrective surgery with a real qualified plastic surgeon.
He may be a bit cheaper but you get what you pay for! Never again will I take short cuts.

Hi
I was just reading your entry with interest. I'm sorry to hear of your experience, Can I ask how long ago you had your treatment on your thighs. I visted Dr Bassi's clinic on Wednesday there. (10th June) Flew down from Glasgow in the morning as I had appointment to have my inner thighs and knees done late in the afternoon. I had researched for months beforehand and decided through reading other accounts and due to his qualifications and experience that this seemed the best clinic for my treatment and I have to say I could not fault the treatment I received. I met a very nice woman in the waiting area before I went in, she had just finished having her stomach done. I was nervous and she put me at ease as she told me she had now had a few treatments on her stomach as there was such a large area to remove and she was delighted with results so that put me at ease. Dr Bassi and Mags were very professional and thorough. I had everything explained to me beforehand. He showed me photos and also showed me the results of the woman I had just been speaking with and it was amazing. I had large thighs and very big knees which I've always hated since childhood so much so I never wore skirts and having dieted most of my life no matter how thin I got I could never shift the fat on my knees. On the inside of each knee there was a large bit that stuck out and fat which hung over the front. Dr Bassi explained that there was a lot to come off. Don't get me wrong, I found the experience pretty painful at times but both Dr Bassi and Mags were great throughout the whole thing. It was explained to me this was because he had to go really deep due to the amount of fat esp down towards my knees . A n awful lot of fat came out. I could notice the difference in my knees straight away and was delighted although one looked slightly bigger than the other but Dr Bassi explained this is due to swelling as even after the procedure he had me stand up and looked at them again from front and behind and done some finishing off until he was happy with them . Since I came home 2 days ago I have been called twice, once by Mags and Dr Bassi called yesterday to see how I was and see what I thought. of results and to offer advice etc He explained I will be sore and lumpy and swollen but I know exactly what I have to do through padding then massage etc with bio oil and that I wont see full result for 6 months. He said he will call me each week to talk through things on the phone as I'm so far away and explained it is important he has me back down in 4 months so he can have a look at my legs and to make sure everything is okay and that I'm perfectly happy with results and hopefully things will be fine as looking good so far. I'm sorry to hear of your experience. It surprises me as I was treated so well and the follow up seems very thorough and reading other people's experiences they see pretty positive. Where you offered the same thing, follow up advice and to go back and have your legs checked after 4 months .

Vaser at selston clinic
I had to call post op, nobody called me! I was asked to come back after 4 months but to be honest there's no point. Whats done is done so I'm just trying other non-invasive contouring treatments to help things along. I'm sure there are risks with all surgery; there will always be that unlucky few!

Vaser lipo and skin tightening
Hi there,
Yes I had the treatment at the Clinic in Selston mid May and so far I can see a huge difference already! They say it takes around 6 months for the full effect to take place, so cant wait till then!!
When I went to Dr Bassi's Clinic in Selston, I must admit was pretty nervous as I knew I would need alot of work doing as not only did I have alot of unwanted fat around my upper and lower tummy area I also had alot of yukky loose skin (apron) this was caused mainly from the pregnancy of my first child as I banged on loads of weight resulting to lots of loose skin!! YUK My only options to try and repare my tummy was either by having a tummy tuk, which I really didnt relish the thought of this extensive surgery plus it would be very tough on the purse!! Or my other option was to try the Vaser system which included alot of skin tightening on the apron. From the start Dr Bassi was very honest as he knew that my tummy was a bit of a mess and that indeed it needed alot of skin tightening, therefore he did say that I may need 2 lots of treatment and that he couldnt promise me 100% the results that I may be looking for and left the desision in my hands as to go for the treatment or not. I decided to bite the bullet and go through with it.
3 weeks after the the treatment I can say already that I dont have that horrible bulge of fat on the upper tummy area when I sit down!! Cant wait for another month to go by already!!! Oh and to treat myself to some nice new tops (not baggy!!)
As for the horrible apron I used to have, the skin has been really tightened up so therefore already the arpon has nearly gone!! I will say it wont be 100% perfect (due to my stretch marks) but it certainly beats off the thought of a tummy tuck which in my mind Im so happy with. I cant believe how well this vaser has worked, its amazing and to think I was awake through the whole procedure talking and joking with both Dr Bassi and Maggs, they both made sure I was as comfortable as possible.
Considering my hips next!!!
Hope this all helps!!

Make sure you go to an experienced cosmetic surgeon..
Research well and don't go for the cheapest option if you want good results. My thighs look awful after taking the cheap route.. Not happy..

How did it go at the hadleigh clinic?
Hi Dalefm! Sorry i haven't been able to reply before now but i've been away most of the summer. Did you decide to have the treatment? As for mine, it went SO well - so much so, i;m going back in November to have another area done! I was very nervous beforehand but my nerves were soon calmed by Dr Gammell as she ran through everything again with me which i found really helpful. She marked me up, explained where the incision points would go and then started. I wouldn't say it was painful - i had the odd twinge of pain every now and again but it was minimal and nothing that has put me off! Especially as im just so pleased with the results - I had a bulge that had bothered me ever since having my children and now its finally gone - yay! I took a couple of days off work afterwards and although i wasn't totally back to normal i was still able to go in and sit at my desk. Dr Gammell gave me some painkillers to take home so i took those for the first 3 days and obviously had to wear my compression garment as well. But even just after a week when i went back for my review appointment i could see the difference (especially when i saw the pictures of me before!) I'd definitely recommend going to The Hadleigh Clinic - Dr Gammell is very professional and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Can't wait for my next treatment now! Sozzle

Vaser lipo upper and lower abs experience
Hi, I had Vaser lipo on both my upper and lower Abs last thursday (1 week ago). I have to admit that, despite all the local anaesthetic, I found parts of it extremely painful during treatment and was in agony for about 24 hours after. The doctor didn't give me any pain killers, but luckily I had some diclofenac at home so took those instead. I was nauseous and felt like fainting for the first 14 hours. The seepage from the incision continued for about 12-14 hours so it's wise to put something extra on the bed to protect it. It hurts to bend forward and I have had to take painkillers every day since, although now I have reduced down to a few paracetamol a day. The compression garment provided certainly helps me feel more comfortable - but it's advisable to get two if you can as they have to be hand washed and dried.
The results are instant but I have enormous bruising across my lower abdomen and the area is quite lumpy. I would love to hear from anyone else who has experienced the lumpiness and wondered how long it takes to go?
Good luck if you decide to go ahead. I think I might have thought twice had I really realised what it entailed.

Vaser
Don't worry about the lumpiness,I had Vaser on 11th April and had lumpiness, its gone now took about10 weeks,i've found I'm going to need more doing now the swellings gone down,my case was different as I have a badly scarred stomach from ops since the age of 6 til now which left me with fat pockets between the scars,it does look better, much better than it did but its made me realise it can be even better...My only prob is do I want to go through that again,I had upper and lower abs done, and found it VERY painful,at the time and for a good 3 weeks after, maybe it was worse due to my bad scarring I don't know,I still have some pain now 12 weeks later but only under my rib area and skin is very sore to touch. I took codydromol for pain every 4 hours,That works well, took that for about 2 weeks.I too would have thought twice if I realised how painful it was going to be,I felt like I'd been run over and my stomach jumped on by an elephant. I'm still wearing my compression garment as its more comfortable with it on and when I leave it off my stomach swells up.Also don't worry if some days it feels worse again,I found on the days I felt better I did too much and caused myself to be in worse pain for a few days after so take it slowly.

Vaser
Hi..had this treament recently and it's been three weeks but still no difference. I drove back after the treatment but the pain set in during the night and for the next two-three days, felt like been hit hard by a bat. I am a bit disappointed that I have not seen some different..been told that it could take months. With liposuction which I had done about 15 years ago I saw immediate different so not sure about this treatment. Good luck.
