Cambridge...here we go again!

Hi,
I'm looking for a buddy for moral support who wishes to go through the Cambridge with me on a relatively short term basis. My plan is to do 5 days of sole source - then do "add a meal" thereafter. My aim is to lose a stone in a month, and I am starting this Friday 27th July.
Having done it before and successfully lost 3 stone last year, I know how gruelling it is, but so much easier when you have support! I have managed to keep off the majority of the weight, but lately it has been creeping back on. This is no-one's fault but my own, as I am aware that I have been over eating, but the time has come to take control again!
I am a great motivator to others when I am in "the zone" myself. I am using some old product of the Cambridge, and have had the benefit of a councillor in the past, so know lots about the diet, but I would strongly urge anyone doing this diet for the first time to get medical advice and an offical cambridge councillor.
In just 4 short weeks, we could both be shopping for a lower dress size.
Any one like to join me?!
N.

Cd again

Hiya Noleen

I am doing the CD for the 2nd time I lost 3st the first time, last year, and have gained 2 of them back so I want to get control again before I am back up there where I started. It does seem harder the 2nd time but I really want to do it so any moral support kick up the backside encouragement wud be good for me. Going to see my CD counsellor tomorrow and from then I need to crack on. Silly thing is that I know it will be quick once I get into the diet frame of mind zone.

You are starting this friday so we should hit targets around the same time if we pull our finger out eh? Lets keep in touch and get to it.

hi juney, well i lost another 5 so now its a stone but since tues been on the scales every day and nothing and its not the time of the month, been to the gym so not sure if that makes adifference. Ive not got a special occassion just so fed up with being fat. FELT SO FED UP. No clothes to wear and all that. Felt like me life had passed me by to be honest. Crazy aint it the power of food.

To mj

hi mj which part of the cd are you doing if your doing ss then you shouldnt be going to the gym until after you've got to the part of the diet when you begin to add food, because it will be your bodys way of looking after you.Have you been told about testing your urine for ketones.Has for the time of the month us ladies retain fluid at all different times of our cycle so make a note of when this happens.I usually put on an adverage of 2lb but the week after iv lost that 2lb and more besides some ladies put on has much has 7lb. So be positive and stick with it because you will get results.ARE you drinking the correct amount of fluids, this does aid weight loss and helps you by keeping you regular are you constipated?

Just think your 1 stone lighter than when you started and well on your way to shifting the other weight. You'l be a dress size down already go and treat yourself to something.

luv juney

Hi noeleen

Hope your still in the zone. Hows the weight loss going. Are you still exercising.

Let's do this thing!

Hi Juney,
Thought I'd reply here as then Rita can view aswell.
The last few weeks I was feeling quite miserable knowing I had thrown caution to the wind, and when my eating is out of control, other things in my life tend not to be good either. I always have a cut off point tho'-a weight at which I will not allow myself to go above. After my hols (which I did enjoy, thank you, esp the food!) I knew I'd need to rein myself in, so I stepped on the scales to face the music. As I'd thought I had put on about half a stone in a week! Now that takes some doing - but I don't regret it because I knew what I was doing, and I knew I'd address it later...now later is here. Since last Friday I've lost about 4 pounds. I thought I'd do SS, but admit I couldn't hack it this time around, so I'm doing a combination of Cambridge + healthy eating, coupled with some exercise, and I am getting results. For e.g I've been having a cereal in the morning (carbs yes,but minimal), a CD for lunch (+ some fruit if desperate), then a big salad in the evening with tuna or ham or egg. I find this type of regime suits me better and I still have the energy to exercise this way, and so far....so good. I really want to do a stone in a month, and believe it's possible.
How are you two girls getting on?

Hi

Hi Noleen,

Great to hear you enjoyed your hols. However I know what you mean about the eating. My intensions seem to start off realyy well in doing the ss but just cant get focused and dont know why. I cant seem to loose weight if i eat normal food. I could just eat toast all day and the weight does not come off. Only ss seems to work but struggling big time. I feel me and Juney are in the similar boat. I think we both need a push up the bum!
With not long to the wedding now im panicking as I know if i dont loose it I will be so unhappy

Rita x

Look forward to the happy event

Hi Rita,
I really wouldn't worry too much if I were you. From what I've read from our previous posts, you are not really over weight - or if so, only a little. In fact (as you are struggling so much to reduce your weight further) have you considered that you may actually be at the right weight for YOU? The charts etc are only a guideline you know, and you have to be realistic. Even if you are a little over weight, I wouldn't obsess about it now, at this stage, as you risk spoiling what should be one of the happiest days of your life! I'm sure you friends and family will think you look absolutely radiant on the day, and won't be expecting to see a stick insect, they'll be expecting to see the girl they know and love, looking as she usually does.So please stop panicking and put this into perspective; the success of your wedding day is not going to hang on whether you manage to lose a few pounds or not. I would just suggest that between now and the wedding, try to make sensible choices, to maintain your current weight and do a little exercise (which will help with the stress - which can be there in the lead up to the big day).
Stop beating yourself up and look forward to your wedding day - you'll regret it if you don't! Your husband-to-be is still gonna marry you anyway!

Thats so sweet

Hi Noleen,

Thank you that is such a lovely message. It occurred to me today its the 1st July, i was telling Juney that now im sort of feeling focused, so even if i get to loose half a stone i will feel better.

How are you getting on? Are you finding it harder or easyer this time round? i know i find it harder.

Both me and Juney were pleased to see you back on the forum.
