Anxiety attacks?

On one lovely summer afternoon I was in the city with some friends having a coffee when suddenly i started to feel dizzy and out side of my body. I thought something was wrong. I started shaking and my heart was beating like ever before. I felt weak and sweaty. My vision went, Every part in my body was tingly and I felt faint. It was the scariest feeling I have ever had in my life. Now i have had continuous attacks for three months. I am getting better. I have tried many strategies. My life has fallen apart. I need someone i can relate to. Please tell me if you no of anything that can help? Besides pills strategies? Because it's all mental!

Anxiety

Hi there ,I myself have had panic attacks, my first when i was 13 yrs. I never wanted to try pills but the doc put me on beta blockers to stop the physical part of it.Then they stopped and i dont think I had another for a few yrs ,so I tried counselling sessions which really helped better then any pill.I now carry what is called a flash card with me, and on it is the things that i have good in my life ,eg own house ect and it just reminds me of the positives in my life. If you feel one coming on take deep breaths slowly in through the nose and out from the mouth and think positive thoughts!

Home remedies and recommendations for anxiety

Try these Home remedies for anxiety:

Take 1 ounce of linden dried leaves and boil in 1 quart of water. Strain out the cooked leaves and drink 1 cup full of this tea every 2 hours.

Use 1 teaspoon of valerian dried leaves per cup of boiling water and drink this tea twice a day.

Some recommendations are:
Avoid sedative drugs, sleeping pills, alcohol and nerve calmers because create dependence.

Walk on a wooded trail or in the city park because these activities offer time for calm reflection and invite the return of peace.

Fish on a quiet lake, bird watching with binoculars, or cultivating flowers help put life back into perspective.

Read biographies of great religious leaders, essays by reflective naturalists, and sublime poetry also may bring peace.

I hope these remedies and recommendation will help you.

Hey guys

I would just like to say thankyou very much. I went to my course for the first time in three weeks after thinking I was mental. I had a fantastic time, my nerves on driggered for about ten minutes and then I was free. My nerves have gone down alot for I have just learnt to accept that they are only feelings. I had rescue remedy in my cuboard from when I was child when I had insomnia. I guess you just have to believe in getting better! And it can happen =)

That is great advice

My friend has told us all of her panic attacks and how to act around her when she'goes into one'. Its ok, she lets me drink red-wine with ice so its give & take. When you know there is good support around you it can help reduce the attacks, or make them shorter. My friend takes a card with her if she travels alone just in case, it explains , and gets her a bit of privacy until its over, and gives a few numbers so we can be phoned to talk to her..she hasn't used it in ages , she just feels safer carrying it.
she had councelling & found she was scared of her ex coming to get her..so to stop her keeping looking we position her with her back to the door when we socialise..adn of course she trusts us.
I know this sounds a bit simplistic, but is it always with coffee& other stimulants? Just a guess
Hugs

Dont go anywhere near pills!!!!!!!!

I know exactly how you feel. I am recovering from a long term illness brought on by prescribed medication. I almost ended up being admitted to a psych ward and even now find I suffer from what you have stated.
Which country do you live in? I was just wondering you have heard of something called rescue remedy. It is a herbal remedy to help you out in times of need. I have found this to work wonders, also I meditate and have practiced this so I can control my anxiety levels when things get scary.
I have been to hell and back and would advise anyone not to go anywhere near the prescribed stuff as it can mess you up BADLY.
If you want someone to rant at, please contact me as I`m very empathic without being patronising. My email addi is essextreehugger@btinternet.com .
wishing you well and stay positive
