Help my nervous daughter!

My 22 year old daughter is suffering with rageing toothache and she is so frigtened of going t the dentist. I understand she can obtain tablets from her doctor to help her nerves before going to the Dentist. Also there are dentists who have a special therapeutic clinic for nervous patients (using laser treatments)
Can anyone advise who has knowledge of any of the above?
Thanks

Hmm... i hope this works...

I'm terrified of the dentist to and i have an appointment in 2 days, and i was searching to see if any of these thoughts would help me, but then i got thinking to focus on something else (like your hobbies) and then you'll hopefully forget about the dentist. You know how you'll be doing something and thinking of something else then you'll forget what your doing well im hoping that will work for me. Anyways thats what i came up with and im gonna try alot of these ideas out... Good Luck and whats the worst that could happen right?

More

I no what nerves is all about. I have been dealing with anxiety attacks for months. I was living in my room for days upon days. I also suggest you look into buying the movie "THE SECRET" or the book. It's all about the laws of attraction and the mind. Its really the answer to happiness and karma. It's not hard work. Once you read or watch it you will get inspired. Make your daughter watch it! My mother made my sisters and I watch it and it changed my life forever within a few days!

Hmmmmmm got it!

tell her to be-friend the dentist. When she feels nervous tell her to automatically think of happy thoughts. Happy thoughts can only bring good feelings. She has kept thinking negative thoughts of the dentist which has become a routine. Tell her to laugh at her fear and that she is not alone. A dentist is not such a great thing for all of us but it's also not harmful so it's illogical thinking. It's mental and not reality. If she can get into her head that it's just a fear and that nerves is just a feeling coming from something in her head that she has created herself then she may feel better. A pill is not going to help. Obviously something happened when she was younger that made her extremely frightened of the dentist. She may not remember. The only way to over come such things is positive thoughts. The laws of attraction. Be-friending the fear. Coming to understand the fear. Only good thoughts bring great things and feelings. She can get into a routine of thinking only good thoughts and once that happens. Opening up the unconcious mind she will feel alot more confident about the dentist.

Help for a nervous daughter

My eldest daughter had a terrible fear of the dentist. Now she will go to the dentist no problem and on her own!
Her dentist administers 'gas and air', just like mums are given during childbirth. She had to go for a trial session first with the dentist to see how she felt about it, luckly she felt comfortable with this and now going to the dentist is not a problem. It may be worth checking with your daughters dentist to see if this type of procedure is available in your area. Good luck!

Breathing

It's so simple, but has she tried any breathing techniques? If you do them properly they really help. Get her to try breathing for a count of four and then out for the same count and concentrate on her breathing, not the dentist.
She should try this before she goes in and she can even do it during treatment. It helped me and I'm a nervous person

Poor thing

I'm sure there are some dentists which know how to deal with nervous patients, it's such a common problem. Try asking the doctor for tablets and see if he knows of any, or maybe explain the situation to your normal dentist and see what he suggests.
