Slipped discs
Have you had an MRI scan to diagnose the exact problem? It would be a good idea then you will get the correct advice and treatment.
I have had scans so know which disc has prolapsed causing my problems and have regular appointments with an orthopaedic consultant. He told me that many people say/think they have a "slipped disc" when they have back pain but haven't had it correctly diagnosed!
My scans show the disc touching the nerves which causes pain in my back, down my legs and weakness in my back and legs needing elbow crutches to get about and at times a wheelchair! I would never use a gel but find that prescribed pain medication and anti-inflammatories helps along with a TENS machine. When pain and weakness are at the worse level I can't even get out of bed!
Hope this is of use to you! Good luck.
