Hi,
I've been searching the internet for ages about these wrinkles on my skin. I started noticing about 2-3 months ago that the normally faint lines on my hands and feet are very VERY pronounced and deep and when I pull the skin on the back of my hands gently and watch it released, it is slow to return, i.e. it doesn't 'snap' back like it's supposed to. Additionally my skin used to peel and was very very dry. Also my skin on my legs and arms is not firm and appears shiny dry, cracked and flakey. I don't know if this is related but if I sit cross legged, or bend my elbow even for a short while the joints begin to ache.
I believe these are tell-tale signs of premature aging. I've never smoked, I don't drink, but I am starting to think that my poor diet, high stress and irregular sleep schedule may be to blame. I have just completed the second year of university, which I found very intense. I pulled many allnighters to finish coursework, ate very little and worked constantly thoughout the week.
I apologise if this doesn't sound a very severe problem as it is self inflicted, but it is really taking its toll on me. I am very depressed, I never go out and socialize and can never wear nice clothes because my skin is just awful. I have lost all of my self confidence.
I would appreciate any advice on how I can revive my skin,
Thank you very much

Im sorry to hear of your low self esteem. I think the best thing for you to do is to 'help' the problem. How much water would you say you drink a day? You need to dedicate yourself to drinking at least 2 litres - you will be surprised at just how much of a difference it will make as well as getting a good night's sleep! Also, why dont you try baby oil which you should apply as soon as you get out of the shower to lock some moisture in. You really need to commit yourself to helping the problem, dont be lazy and forget about drinking enough - set your mind to it. You could also treat yourself to a one off facial and a good skin care routine. Hopefully you look after your skin in the sun and do not use sun beds but try using an spf which you should apply every morning even in the winter - i use a dermalogica one which I can recommend. I hope this helps xxx

I have a friend suffering from low self esteem right now and it hurts my heart; and she's only in her twenties. Was this a somewhat sudden onset? From what you wrote, it sounds like you are very dehydrated. Try drinking plenty water and using a natural oil on your skin after your bath/shower...i.e. sesame oil. Never use anything with mineral oil in in. It is not a natural oil and our bodies do no recognize it and it does not obsorb into the deep layers of the skin.
The joint pain could also be related to lack of water. Seriously, try drinking more water....especially before bed. You'll get up to pee, but during the night while resting is when our bodies heal and recoperate.
Best to YOU!
