Gallstones

I was diagnosed yesterday with having gallstones. Now Iknow I need to have a low fat diet. Does this mean fried foods or also things like milk, cakes etc?

Hiya!

i had gallstones and the pain is indescribable! i think i'd rather give birth again! they said my gallbladder was full, so i had an op in jan and had my gallbladder removed. op went well and im back to normal! are they opperating on you or are they leaving it?
if they're leaving it, you will have to cut down on fatty foods such as takeaways, chips, anythin dairy, fizzy drinks etc etc...... if you're having your gallbladder removed, i pretty much eat normally but can sometimes get an upset stomach if i eat fatty foods.

hope this helps x

Nightmare

Hello,
my experience was strange. I was 25 weeks pregnant whe i found out about mine. Ocasiionaly i was sick when i ate fatty foods but then this one time after being sick the pain didnt go away. I went the docs and she said it was just my baby getting bigger. after 2 days i was in so much pain i couldnt sit up. went bak the docs and they refered me str8 away to emergancy assement 24 hours later and a scan later one of my stones had cum out the gallbladder and was heading towards my pancreas which if it hadnt of got stuck and reached my pancreas i could of eneded u in big trouble with Acute pancretitus. after a week in hospital, they picked the blocked stone out and 3 months after having my baby i had my gallbladder and 5 stones removed.

My advice is either demand it out or as soon as u start getting a cramp feeling and it aint going away and you cant sit up and the only thing that helps slightly is heat then get urself docs soon as. oh and if you are planning a baby, that could offically be the icing on the cake, i know a few people who werent diagnosed through pregancy and it was hell for them!

Hope this helps.
Take care
