Hot flushes & excessive sweating

Hi everyone,

I don't know if anyone can help, but I really hope someone can because I am starting to get really down in the dumps about my really embarrassing problem.

7 months ago I gave borth to a beautiful baby boy and whilst I was pregnant, I started with hot flushes, sweating and terrible night sweats - this was put down to my raging hormones by my GP.

Since goving birth, I have been havint these hot flushes and excessive sweating very frequently throughout the day and it happens even if it's not at all warm!! The thing that is really getting me down is the fact that the amount of sweat that I have been producing (which I am sure is getting worse as time goes on) is covering my hair and clothes in sweat and it's horrible!! I hate it when my clothes stick to me because of it and when my hair is wet through it makes me feel so scruffy!! It's really embarrassing!

I used to wear my hair down most of the time but because my hair is pretty much permanently wet through, I have to pin it up because I get so hot and then I get into a really bad temper.

My Husband and I have been getting into a lot of arguments because of my temper - which is getting us both down. I just get so angry when I am too hot and with feeling like a tramp certainly doesn't help.

I asked my GP is my hormones could still be the cause of this and he said that it is too long and that my hormones from pregnancy should have done back to normal by now. When I came to ask him what could be causing this, he just shrugged his shoulders and changed the subject!

I don't know what could be causing this and whatever it is, I am wondering if there is anything I can do to stop it - or at least calm down on the amount of sweat that my body seems to be producing!

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,

Hazel xx

Hot flushes

Hi Hazel, I can understand what you are going thru as when I started to go thru menopause I suffered with hot flushes and sweating. I don't know whether it is the same or not . However I ended up curing my flushes just by looking at my diet in a different way. IT was amazing! My friends urged me to write about it so that I could help other women. Hence I have a website which tells my story. www.nohotflushes.com There are no special foods but you just choose foods that bring you back into balance. It is very easy You will need to check with your doctor to get his ok. I checked in with an Ayurvedic Practitioner who worked out the correct balance for me. Everyone is different. Its good to get a diet that is tailored to your needs. Good luck and here's to a cooler life! Regards Catherine
