My name is Oyin Akiniyi and I am working on behalf of National Blood Service, trying to find Black African, Black Caribbean and South Asian people who have received donated blood and would like to help us encourage other people from within their community to give blood.

Statistics for blood donation in Black African, Black Caribbean and South Asian communities show a situation in need of much improvement, currently only 3% of active blood donors are from these communities. And because of this, particular types of rare blood groups found only in Black and Asian communities are in great demand.

If you or anyone you know has had their life saved or helped by receiving blood wed love to hear from you. Theres a chance your story could save lives by inspiring more people to volunteer to give blood.
