Little bit confused about an ultrasound scan and could use some advice please?
Hi, firstly i apologise if this is a bit long winded...
I've been getting this pain in my stomach for the past 6 months... at one point it was at least once a week i got it and yet at other times i have gone over a month without any pain. I get really bloated and uncomfortable when my stomach starts hurting and have tried cutting out all wheat products as it was suggested that i coud have a wheat intolerance - i didnt find this helped as i still got this pain as randomly as before.
I have also had recurrent cystitis for the past two years which i am now taking anti biotics every day to prevent.
My doctors can't find any reason for either of the above. They have suggested ibs for the stomach aches which i guess would make sense.
I recently had an ultrasound scan to check that my bladder and kidneys were ok (am still waiting for the results although the nurse did say the bladder was fine) i noticed that the nurse started taking screen shots of one of my ovaries - this is the bit that concerns me.
Does anyone have any ideas of why she would be taking pictures of my ovary? i've also read that they are meant to be about the size of a peanut where as this was about the size of a golf ball on the screen - im not sure if maybe ultrasounds enlarge the images on the screen?
Hope someone can give some insight?!
Thanks Izzy
