An idea
I don't have it, but I work with people who have different kinds of ankle (and other pain). I guess its always a good idea to check with the doctor first for anything structural. But otherwise, most of these kinds of pains and difficulties in feet and ankles have to do with the whole pattern of the way we stand and walk - how our weight travels down through the joints into the ground. If your weight is not so well balanced then a muscle here or there has to overwork to counteract and over a long period that can produce pain. The achilles tendons are very vulnerable to this as they are the attatchment for the calf muscles and are also affected by how the ankles bend both of which are crucial in just keeping you upright. Are your calf muscles very tight? is your weight over your heels or toes? what is the difference in how you put your weight on the floor throught he right leg or left? But there will be a whole picture that involves all of you. So my advice would be see if the doc has an aswer but if not, or as well (or if you don't like the answer) get yourself to a good Feldenkrais Method practitioner who can help you look at why that pain is happenning and help you re-learn how to use yourself better to get rid of it - and so it won't come back! best victoria (www.feldenkraisworks.co.uk)
