Umbilical hernia

Hi, hope you're all well.

I had my baby boy Thomas on 9th June 2009 by emergency C Section & have suffered an umbilical hernia. I am only 4ft 11" & am of small stature, I carried all front (with a purple belly lol). I have been referred fo physio & have my first appointment in July.

Does anybody know any stories & had their own experience of an umbilical hernia? The doctors I have seen (few & far between) have not told me much & I haven't a clue what to expect.

I always had in my mind that I wanted 3 kids, but after this it scares me into staying with the 1.

Hy hun,

I have one of them to & have had it for nearly a year but i have now been refered to have it fixed.

This is done under general anestetic, small cut oush it back in & out a mesh in the hole to stop it coming back out again!

I got it afetr my 3rd baby as i had polyhydroamnios (loads off amnio fluid!) so it pushed my tummy musles apart & let my stomache pop out of me belly button.

Ya do have to be carful thou cause i put off havibg it fixed 6 months ago( to scared off being put out!) and now my tummy muscle are coming back togeather when i tens it nips the pokey out bit &really hurts!

I think it just get worse if left & can only be corrected with surgury and if it twists then it a 999 jobby so you should relly get it sorted out proply........
