Unfit!

Hi girls!
Im not overweight (5ft 1" and 8stone) but I am unfit! I dont do any exercise (apart from walking to and from train station) I feel tired all the time and I know its because Im not active enough. Would like a little bit of toning aswell.
I know what I should be doing but I do lack motivation.
I was thinking of trying Yoga, has anyone recently started it cos I'd like to know what its like. xx

Try pilates

Hi theraze,

I tries yoga, but found it quite tiring - I would be really tired if we went for a coffee afterwards!
I then joined a pilates group, which I found to be much better, and I felt as though I had really worked my muscles. It concentrates on strenthening your core muscles so that toning is very good.

Yoga

Ive done yoga. It is great! It's very healthy mentally and physically and also a great way to de-stress! You should definately go for it.

To heavy

How can I get this fat off me. I am so heavy my family even calls me FAT.

Not yoga the opposite infact!

Hi there!

I have been wanting to try yoga too but it takes a while to feel the effects apparantly

What I would suggest is something I do called kickboxercise
Kickboxing is one of the fastest fat burners and toners around. These classes use techniques of punching and kicking on bags, mixeed with aerobics and other cardio, ending with partner work (one has mitts, other has pads and you practice techniques). This is an excellent toner and lets you let off some steam. It is not dangerous as there is no physical contact and it also teaches you some excellent self defence skills

If you cant find one of these classes (mines based in west yorkshire, uk) I'd suggest boxercise, not quite as effective as concentrates on upper body only, and this is taught at most reputable health club and gyms

Hope this helps

Yoga

is really great, I love it! I've never felt so healthy, inside and out. It depends on how often you go, but it stimulates most of the systems in your body and tones you up in no time at all.
I also find that jogging gives me loads of energy anda good night's sleep... but can be a bit boring!
