Hi everybody. I'm new. I have a 9 years old baby, and she's quite a happy and lovely child, even if she has no father, since me and her father broke up when i was pregnant, he took drugs and was quite a violent guy, so we didn't meet each other anymore... And he's now dead. The man i'm actually in love is married, i've been his lover since 1998. So she doesn't really has a father figure. But she's happy, anyhow. Me and my mom have been quite depressed, both of us have had quite a hard time with our nerves (and so did most of our female "ancestors"). But from the moment Emma, my baby, was born, i started to feel better, and now i still have some hard time, but i can say i am a serene person. What i wanted to know, if some of you can tell me, is if depression and those kind of moods can be hereditary. I thank you so much for your attention, Scarlett.

Just from what you have said, perhaps the females in your like do have a tendency to be 'down'. But it seems to me that you are a great Mum and you wil be ready to help her deal-with and combat these feelings. I think she is more likely to grow up to be a self-reliant strong woman. H

i don't know if i can be told a strong woman but i'm definitely self-reliant... I have to be, 'cause i have to grow up a girl on my own, you know, so since i've made the choise to keep my baby i knew i should have trust myself more than i used to do before! Thank you for answering!
