I'm pretty stressed out at the moment... its a culmination of pressure at work, looking after the kids and winter blues. Although I am exhausted by the time I flop into bed, I just can't sleep. I worry that I'm spiralling out of control, can anyone help?

Bathing againts stress

many people find it hard coping with stress. the thing you can do though is to get yourself a relaxing bath before going to bed. this is beneficial for you in two ways; for one, bathing is undeniably relaxing and improves your mood. Bathing will also help you with your sleeping problems. Bathing helps improve circulation and alleviates you of tension. additives also play a major part in this. you can use aromatherapy bath salts, bubble or fizzing would be nice. http://www.sfbsc.com/bath-salt

Anti-stress

When I experience stress I go walking. I'm walking in a park, breath fresh air, thinking about something pleasent. Morning and evening walks help to cope with stress. And swimming as well. Swimming is the only sport which helps to keep up not only physical health but mental as well.

Try alternative

A natrul and really relaxing way to ease stress is using essential oils and herbal teas. I love to do this when I can and it feels great afterwards. Use an oil burner with a few drops Lavender Oil or Camomile [spelling, soz] to help relax. Camomile IS another way to help, slowly sip a small cup before bed. AND light a few mildly scented candles and just clear your mind as much as you can. Read something like a mythical storie that will help forget stuff. hehehe Lots of sex is really a great stress buster, you only THINK your tired!!
Take care!

Stress relief

feel what your body is telling u and respond accortdingly or no doubt you will burn out

Hello

i'm the same had a lot going on and the thingthat helps me sleep is a coffee with some baileys in it not to much just enough to taste and it usually works for me sue

Have you read the 'sleep well: feel well' article?

I checked it out the other day... In the 'wellbeing section', could just give you the advice you need.

Challange

a stressed out request asking for instant relief requires a an answer with an element of instant relief given. your reply suggests further stress added. i would say first in order to open a pathway for a positive response to be offerd first needs to take time out by means of putting daily routine on hold for neccessary time needed.only we ourselves know truely what our bodies are telling us so results are determined by our interpretation given

Hot milk...

I know I sound like an old lady, but hot milk at bedtime sends me straight off and I sleep really well. I jazz it up a bit with cardamon pods and vanills, mmmmm.
Really psychodelic dreams too!

Cut out caffeine etc.

It sounds kind of obvious, but caffeine after 2pm does affect how you sleep. Make sure you have at least half an hour just for yourself in the eveings, chill out, have a hot bath and try to unwind... Ask your other half to give you a good old shoulder rub, it really helps release the day's tensions.
