Time to ditch them??

I have just finished my last year at Secondary School and am moving onto college. My last 2 years have been very difficult with friends. They weren't supportive when I was suffering with depression, and I am 100% that they talked behind my back as I got into my friends email account where I found her talking or rather ... about me to other friends. They called my ex boyfriend a fake just because they hadn't met him and spread rumours about me. They said I lied to them and they don't trust me. Now they don't invite me out. Rumours spread and people I don't even know shouted out my boyfriends name when they saw me.

I'm going to a different college to ALL my friends and am hoping to make new ones. I don't want to ditch some of my old friends but I don't know if they're worth bothering with anymore if they are going to treat me like dirt.

Any advice welcome as I am very confused?
Thanks

It's entirely your choice.

Are these the friends that spread nasty rumours about you?? Do you trust them and feel comfortable around them??

You are at an impresionable time of your life, what happens now will shape you for the future. Just remember to remain strong, believe in yourself and do what is right for you.

What you have been through is cruel and only you can decide if you want to hang on to your old friends. But if they where the ones spreading rumours then I personally would steer clear. Where were these friends when you really needed them?? Where they there for you?? Thats what true friendship is about, not going with the flow just to fit in.

When you move onto your new college you will meet loads of new people and have an amazing time. Your friendships will develop onto the next level and you will need to surround yourself in people you can rely on.

Good luck with what you decide to do!
