I guess cats die older nowadays than they used to 20 years ago, specially those who don't wander outside because those ones don't catch any diseases. My parents have two cats who are aged 18 and 19. They have health problems owing to their age of course but in the whole they are doing rather well. As for me, I have a female cat who is 11 and doing fine.

Whole thread for the following message:

My cat's 14 and still going strong...
Not that I want him dead or anything, but how old has everybody else's lived? have heard stories of 30 year old cats, can't see him still dragging himself around at that age...

Katy, lifetime or your cat is quite special. It depends only on inheritance & living conditions. Stories are just particular cases..

Hi there,
I had a cat till she was 18 and she never had anything wrong with her ever in her whole life. Finger's crossed now ive got 3 more they will as long if not longer. I think 30 is a bit long though. They can't be able to do much at that age.

died a natural death at age 22. Near the end, as he could no longer go out fast enough, he had even learnt to use a litter box.
My grandmother had a Siamese who was exactly my age, he died at age 19, I cried my eyes out.

we eventually had to put our tomcat down at 22, as he didn't do anything other than sleep and eat and couldn't see or hear
Think there's a few years left in yours yet!
