Hey there
I have my own hamster...so I know what your talking about when it comes to smelly cages, lol!
Remember to clean your hamster's cage at least once every two weeks, with animal-friendly washing liquid so he/she doesen't get sick. We don't want him going to the vets, do we! Normally your hamster might do the toilet in one of the corners of his/her cage. Remember to change the sawdust every day from this area. :P
And change your hamster's diet; it'll make his, er..poop, less smelly, lol!
(And change the water regularly.)
I hope this helps, let me know!
See ya!

I think the only thing that you can do is to clean it as much as possible!

After several half terms with the school hamter, I've come to the conclusion that you just can't! the best thing to do is to put it in the porch if you have one, or somewhere else 'outside', but don't actually put it outside as it'll be too cold.
