Last-minute deals - sos - please help!!

Morning ladies! Desperately seeking help!!

I'm trying to organise a cheapo packahe hol with the girls this summer, but we haven't booked anywhere yet and all we can find is Greek islands for aboout £300. Thinking of chancing it and getting a deal right at the last minute but slightly panicking that we won't be able to get anything. The thing is it's the first week in August and schools will have broken up...has anyone else been away this sort of time or managed to pick up decent last-minute deals??? Either we book now or chance it...

Any help greatly appreciated. Better go do some work now!!

Last minute deals seem to be getting more and more rare, especially in August as it is the peak season and many planes/hotels will be fully booked so prices will be at a premium rather than the holiday companies trying to cut their losses. I'd try and narrow down where you want to go and then look on the internet (http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/holidays/ is a good starting place) or go into your travel agent and get them to do a bit of searching for you. Thanks for that Katy! We took the plunge, booked a week in Turkey for just over £300 and it looks really nice - big apartment with pool on the edge of the resort not far away from all the nightlife and stuff, with some mountains out the back! So excited - started packing already!
