Weather report please!!!!

I am travelling to Australia 21 June.Although I realise it is winter there and my friend to whom I am visiting has told me It will be chilly and to bring a coat I can not believe it`s going to be that bad by our standards.Thing is I don`t want to be waited down uneccesarily(gotta leave room for shopping!!)Can someone advise please?

My sister spent a year in Australia and apparently it can get colder than we think during the winter. I think it depends whereabouts you're going to be - were are you staying, or are you moving around?
