" A year in the merde " , by Stephen Clarke. I bought it in a little Canadian bookstore in Paris and started reading it in the metro, on my way home. I had to stop, because I was laughing so hard the other passengers were staring at me.
Of course, he is awfully mean and very critical of the French, but I am ready to bet he doesn't believe every word he says... Do try it !

It's very popular in the UK. Haven't read it yet myself but will do so on your recommendation!

I might read it too, at first I thought it looked a bit silly, but so many people have recommended it.
