I found they got better from the 3rd/4th one onwards, I thought the earlier ones were too targeted at kids. Speaking of Harry Potter... the new film's coming out, yay!

He'll probably have read it within a day, he's absolutely obsessed with HP. I read the first few but never really got into them. Are the later books better?
