Hi there, Yeah i remember the conversation i had with you about this.....good to hear from you.

It's nice to know your real name....mine's Kerrie, by the way!

Im convinced im having a boy, so is my partner and my son.....and i was told when i had my son...11 years ago!!...that it wasnt very likely i'd be able to carry a girl so i guess that has always stuck in the back of my mind aswell.

Ohhhhh, i still dont know whether i'll find out or not. i love surprises but i'm really impatient aswell!!!

Will definately get back to you though. It's at 2:00....cant wait!

Thanks for your reply

"48hrs til my scan, should i find out the sex?!"
Posted by summerlee1 25 April  at  14:00

Hi everyone, i hope you're all well.

I have my scan on Friday...im sooo excited!

Would like your thoughts though on whether or not i should find out the sex.

I have an 11 year old son from a previous relationship ( i didnt find out the sex then ) and both myself, my son and my partner all think this baby will be a boy but i dont know whether to find out or not?!

We only have a two bedroom house so if we're wrong and it's a girl we'll have to think about the bedroom situation a bit sooner that we would if it was a boy and it will obviously make buying baby stuff easier knowing the gender but i also like the idea of a leaving it as a surprise!

Like any opinions please! Have you found out? Did you then wish you hadn't? Did it help you to bond sooner once you knew what the sex was....as it's then no longer an "it" ?

Please take the time to reply. Thankyou :0) x

Hi again!

My scan is next Friday, and I really want to know if it's a boy or a girl. We spoke about this before, my partner said at the start he would really like a girl (he has a daughter from a previous relationship, so I think he feels more secure at the thought of another girl). I want to find out, mainly because I am a control freak (lol) and HAVE to know, and partly so that if, as I suspect, it is a boy, my partner can adjust to the idea and I can plant lots of 'he can play cricket with his Dad!' ideas in his head, so that when the baby arrives it's less of a shock. Also for the bonding - it will seem more real to me if I know, especially as this is my first.

Either way, good luck for tomorrow - and make sure you come back and let us know how it goes, even if you don't decide to ask!

Hiya can i ask when you are due?is this your first scan?im 20 and my partner is 23 and we have our 20 week scan at the end of may and i really want to find out the sex whereas my partner wants to wait for the surprise so we are going to have to talk because im usless at keeping secrets and would let it slip. my advise if you both want to find out then go for it far more practical good luck xx

"Ohhh its a tough one"

I was in the same situation a couple of years back. I went and got the 3d scan done and my husband and son came with me. The two of them pestered my the whole time to find out the sex and i said No. I love surprises - even though i was positive it was a boy. Anyway when I gave birth to a baby girl i was overwelmed !! I couldnt believe it. Its now my third pregnancy (im nearly 7 weeks)and i wont be finding out. I want a surprise but my husband has started already and he wants to find out "to prepare" for the arrival. The real reason is that he cant hold his water. Ive not announed the pregnancy yet and he has managed to tell 2 old friends already.
Its up to you - everyone is different
Let me know what you decide x

"Baby gender"

I also faced the same dilemma when I was pregnant with my son, I really wanted to know the sex but at the same time wanted to have surprise. Then I tried the Chinese gender calendar, which gave me some hints on the sex of the baby while at the same time there is still odds on the prediction. I think it was quite fun! You may try it here: http://www.chinesegenderchart.info
