Thanks for replies, had further blood tests today, and should know results by monday.
The only thing is, if I have got it, apparently I won;t be able to have a water birth, which is what i really wanted. Midwife said that women can only have them if there has been no problems at all during the pregnancy!

Whole thread for the following message:

Has anyone developed this?
I had various routine blood tests with my midwife last week, and i got a letter in the post today asking me to go to the hospital tomorrow as the glucose test came back high. I need more blood tests to rule out gestational diabetes.
I'm completely freaking myself out about it, so just wondered if anyone can put my mind at rest.

I have all the symptoms for this but have had normal test results, so I read up on it...as your other reply says, it isn't anything to be overly worried about, just something they monitor to make sure you are coping ok and have a diet that looks after you and your growing baby. Better to know and be able to help yourself than not know. It's quite common to have this, and you generally return to normal after the birth. Good luck, and take care of yourself - and your bump! x

My aunt had gestational diabetes and i also have a friend who suffered with it as well. They were both told it was nothing to be overly concerned about - just means you have to careful with your diet during your pregnancy. Normally back to normal as soon as you give birth.

Don't worry about it at all - you'll be fine!
