"Slight movements..."
Posted by popsy25 2 May  at  12:00

I have had some slight movements, but they didn't feel like the butterflies that people said they would - have you ever had an involuntary twitch in your eyelid? That was exactly how mine felt! Very bizarre. It's like something is tickling you on the inside! (sounds dodgy!)It usually happens just as I'm drifting off to sleep - maybe you could try lying very still, flat and just relaxing - that was how I first felt it x

Whole thread for the following message:

"Will i definitely be able to find out what sex?"
Posted by kavvy 30 April  at  10:30

Hi girls,

I have my 2nd scan this Friday - I know that we want to find out the sex of the baby. Basically we're too impatient to wait!! Am just wondering now though, what if the baby isn't in the right position to be able to tell what it is? I can see this happening as would be just my luck!

Can anyone tell me whether there is chance that I won't be able to find out, any tips to make sure the baby is moving about enough to tell??

Really want to be calling my baby its chosen name by the end of this week!

K.xx

I don't have any advice, but I'm in the same boat! My scan is Friday and I really want to know the sex, once I know everything is ok. I too am sure that the baby will have it's legs crossed and be laughing at us! lol

Good luck to you both for Friday.

When i had mine on Friday, to begin with the baby was in an awkward positon so was really hard to tell, but the sonographer got me to lie on my left side for a couple seconds, then on my right side for another couple seconds and when i returned to my back the baby had moved slightly so he got a much better view!

I'll be thinking of you both, please remember to let me know how you get on and your due dates as i've forgotten!....has your memory gone since you've become pregnant?!

Wait to hear from you, good luck x
"Memory? what memory?"

Lol

Thanks Kerrie, I will keep you posted - my due date is 26 Sept, a couple of weeks after you. Can't wait til Friday, so excited! x
"Mush"
Posted by kavvy 30 April  at  17:37

Hi both,

My husband tells me that my brain has probably gone to mush! I have decided that this is a brilliant excuse for everything!! Do feel v. ditsy sometimes. Actually have been feeling v. dizzy today. I have iron teblets prescribed and have been forgetting to take them - am thinking this is making me lightheaded.

Kerrie - good to know real names! I'm Kavita (Kavvy is what my mum used to call me). I'm due on teh 15th September. Seems such a long time away!

At least when I know whether its a he or a she this will give me something else to focus on.

Well this is funny, three K's! I'm Kirsty. And, we're all due within a couple of weeks of each other!

Brain mush is common, I think - the girls I work with have suffered (two have gone on maternity in the last year and come back to tell me tales!) Some days I have trouble remembering my own name!

Try to keep us the iron tablets, I used to suffer with anaemia in my teens and it does make you dizzy - and prone to faint. And you need to protect that little bundle from any falls, not to mention yourself!

"Baby movement?"

Hi - also as you're due around the same time, have you felt the baby move alot yet? I haven't really. People are saying that this is because its my first - to be honest will be glad for the scan just to see that all is ok!

"V. excited"
Posted by kavvy 2 May  at  17:27

Hi - yes getting v. excited now. Week really seems to be dragging! I am asking people why they think its boy/girl so I can see who's right! Both my mum and a close friend have had dreams that its a boy. My father-in-law wants a grand-daughter but has confirmed boys are v. common on my husbands side of the family..so is not hopeful!
We'll soon see!

What time is your scan tomorrow? I'll be thinkiing of you! Mine is at 3.40. I'm still convinced it's a boy, lol.

And Kerrie - my partner picked out a boy's name last weekend, and has been talking about how good it would be to even the numbers up, as he is outnumbered at the mo with me and his daughter in the house! I think my mentions of football matches and cricket games have made him realise it would be fine either way! I think he's just worried about the 'unknown', after having a girl previously.

Take care both of you x
"Scan"
Posted by kavvy 3 May  at  14:42

Hi both,

My scans at 10.30..have been so busy at work that haven't really had a proper chance to think about it yet. I think I'll be really excited tonight though. To be honest haven't really thought about the real reason for the 'anomaly' scan. Hope everything else is ok..

"Its a boy!"
Posted by kavvy 4 May  at  13:37

Hi K's,

So all was well, 2 arms 2 legs, heartbeat, spine etc..and a little winky!!! He was being a bit awkward facing my back. But the scan lady thought she saw something, so tried to jiggle him about a bit more (I had to lay on my side also) then finally she caught a definite glimpse of it and is sure its a boy. So there we go, blue it is!

"Thanks for the update! i'm so nervous..."
Posted by popsy25 4 May  at  14:45

Hi Kavvy

Thanks for letting us know...my turn next! Appointment is at 3.40pm, I'm so nervous that everything measures up ok! I'm so glad it went well for you. How long did it take? I'm positive mine is a boy too. Oooh, I'm so excited!! x x
"Congrats on your son kavita!"
Posted by summerlee1 4 May  at  15:08

Wow a boy! Glad everything went ok.

I was convinced mine was a boy but i got it wrong!! (dont mind though as i'll now have one of each )

So that's one of each so far, girl for me, boy for you, i wonder what Kirsty's having?!

Not long now!

Well congratulations to you again on finding out you're having a son....no doubt i'll speak to you again later when we check in on Kirsty x
"Not long."
Posted by kavvy 4 May  at  14:50

Hi - it'll be fine. Didn't take very long at all. Have to say she was quite quiet at first, but I think she was just concentrating on making sure everything was there. Then she relaxed and started showing us things. I think altogether it probably took about 20 minutes!

Hope yours goes well. Not long to go now!
