hi im waiting for a result from the docs to conferm if im pregnant, i am convinced iam as iv got all the signs and havnt had a period for 5 weeks.
but yesterday i had strange feeling is my low abd. a bit like the feeling it was streching,later that night i had a little bit of pink blood when i wiped,then overnight it got heavier and now (next day) its like a proper period but more painful cramps, if the results come back positive i will ask for an examination or a ultra sound. just woundered if anyone has had any experience like this or know of anyone who has, i realy am panicing and need help!! thanks

Can anybody reassure me please, I'm new to this website but had to look for some kind of explanation or support from others who have experienced this.

I found out I was pregnant last weekend after 6 tests (silly I know but the cheaper the test the least acuarate the result) anyway obviously I was estatic because It took me nearly a year with my son and only 4 months this time.So it makes me 5 weeks. All was ok until last night (sat) I went to the toilet only to find brown blood as I wiped it was only slight but I had been experiencing cramps all through the day like period pains which I had with my first pregnancy but never any blood. I went to the doctors and he said that I could be experiencing a threatened miscarraige, which means I will either carry on and have a miscarriage or the pregnany will progress, it is just a waiting game, I am to ring the docs on Tues to arrange an early scan. Thankfully I have not had any cramps today or bleeding (sun) but still feel abit weird in myself and my tummy feels abit churney.Does anybody think it might be good news or have gone through this themselves?????

i went through a threatened miscarrage at 9 weeks. had heavy red bleeding with lots of clots and went to a&e. they said it could carry on an miscarry or continue on. i carried on bleeding for a week very heavly but all was fine. i had a blood pocket behind the placenta but by 11 weeks all was fine at by my 16 week scan the clot had gone.

brown blood is good, means its old and could have been there awhile. try and relax hard i know but i hope things work out for you.

I was7 weeks pregnant this weekend just gone and i started spotting very lightly on thursday 1 may so i left it till Friday and it carried on but a bit heavier so i popped down the nhs walk in and the lady prepared me for the worst and said it could be early signs of miscarriage but she did mention that it could be threatened miscarriage (the syptoms are similar as i read on the internet so i relaxed all weekend it has now come to stop and i still feel pregnant and a test still says positive, im gunna leave it for another week or so and do another. i hope everything works out for you as i hope it does for me. please can you let me know what happens as it really helps to find out others problems and if they have sorted themselves out. zoe xxx

hi when i was pregnant with my first i bled from about 7 wks always at the hossie but never had any pain,she was born healthy.i was preg with this 1 7 wks started to bleed with period like pains went a & e they sent me home and told me to go bk monday morning.my mum and everyone told me not to worry cos i bled with my first child,but the pains were getting worse i went for the scan and they confirmed id misscarried...

i had the same as you at 11 weeks it went in a day an the next day i was sent for a scan just incase, everything turned out fine i ehard somewhere about old blood but im no expert try to relax i hope everythimng works out, its happened to others and we're still here

i am replying to your message as i am going through the same thing as you,i did 4 tests all come back positive i went and booked in with my doctor,was due to see midwife the folowing friday,in which i started getting thickish discharge which is normal but had streaky brownish redish blood with it also i rang my hospital which they sent me for a scan,the sonographer said i was 8 weeks gone but looks like its a threatened misscarriage as its way to low down,in which she said i would lose the baby within the next couple of days,i havent had any bleeding since,i just feel knackered and having dizzy spells all the time especially in the morning and at night,the doctor did advise me to go for a dnc,but when i phoned the hospital up they just told me the baby would come away with my next period(i suffer with pcos)so i rearly have periods anyway im doing another test today as i should be 10weeks by now so i will let you know how i get on i hope this helps you because you have helped me,hope to hear back from you many thanks nicola.x

Hey, I was just diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage.. same exact story as yours.. they told me BED REST and i go for my ultrasound in 6 days. To hopefully find out that everything is getting better. A WAITING GAME is what you said.. thats exactly what it feels like it's driving me crazy! I am 22 years old and I have had 2 kids.. both my pregnancies were PERFECT.. no problems.. I just can't believe this is happening.. i've been searching stuff all over the internet since i found out yesterday. and your story just really hit me. I wish all the best for you and your baby

hi last monday i went to the toilet and noticed brown staining in my pants and when i wiped(7 wks pregnant) i had no pain apart from a little backache.i went straight to the hospital where they examined me and said my servix was closed (which was a good sign)but said that i had a urinary tract infection, i was given antibiotics for that and sent home to see what happened.(i wasnt offered a scan much to my annoyance) the next day the staining turned to blood but only came when i urinated and continued the next day again with no pain at all. on the 3rd day of bleeding i began to have quite strong pains and felt an overwhelming feeling to go to the toilet whwn i did i passed a rather large clot.a few hours later i passed another clot along with almost a grey clot. i went back to the hospital was scanned and unfortunately they confirmed a miscarriage,i did not need a d&c which i was grateful for.this is the 2nd miscarriage i have had although i was 13 wks along with my last one.all i can advise is if you feel something isnt right get it checked out,i know of people who have gone on to have healthy babies when they have bled in early pregnancy. good luck my prayers are with you.

Firstly congratulations secondly, i experienced the exact same thing as you. I found out I was expecting and then the next day I started with a brown discharge, that lasted about 4 days. I was around 5 weeks pregnant then, and luckily my pregnancy was fine and Im now 25 weeks! Same thing happened to my friend as well, I think its quite common! x x x let me know how you get on x x x

I haven't been through this myself, but know of someone else who has - she is ten weeks now, and everything smoothed out for her. I have heard others talk about it, and say that brown blood is old, and may be caused by implantation of the foetus in the womb - especially at only 5 weeks. I had a lot of pains at that stage!

I hope everything is ok - did you call your docs today to get the early scan? x
