Had my beautiful baby

Hello strangers, I haven't been on here for aaaaaages!! I hope you are al well. Huge congrats to all new mums & new mums to be.

I am finally getting into the swing of things & catching up on stuff - emails etc.

I had my baby boy Thomas on the 9th June 2009, four days over his due date & weighing in at 8lbs 5oz!!! I am only 4ft 11" & of a petite frame so he was a bit too big for me, I ended up having an emergency C Section - even after dilating to 9cm!!
Also with me being all front & looking like I had a bowling ball stuck to my front & him being big, I have suffered an umbiliacal hernia. So not only having to content with the C Section wound I have to be careful with the hernia. I spent 5 days in the hospital & have been referred to the physiotherapist.

But I will say - he was worth it!!! I love him to pieces & can't imagine life without him. DP has been fantastic, as have my parents - especially my Mum (who came to theatre with me - bless DP couldn't face it).
After 9 hours of close, painful contracions, the consultant came to see me confirmed that Thomas was NOT going to come out naturally. My hind waters went at 3.35am on Monday 8th so I was in slow labour since then. Had sweep on Tuesday morning (had to apologise to Doc for shouting F**K across the ward as she did it )

Anyhoo, I am just typing my birth story on a word document but the above is the top & bottom of it.

Hey

congratulations! hope your healing well now!

I had a really bad emergency c section after being induced and having contractions for 22 hours before they decided to do a c section, after all that time i was only 3 cm dialated!!
But like you say, its more than worth it, never known love like it!

Take care

Nat and Megan 1 week old (where has the time gone) xx

Congratulations on the birth of Thomas, sounds like you had a hard time but its all worth it in the end.

Seems like a few of the June mums have had C-Sections, must be something in the air.

Wishing you and your family all the best.
