Reduced amniotic fluid - can anyone give advice??

My close friend is 21 weeks and has been told that the fluid levels are really very low. She has been bleeding for a good chunk of her pregnancy.

Has anyone experienced/know anything about such things? I'm desperate to try and give her some information that comes from women - we are a great source of information and comfort.

Congratulations to you all - pre and post ladies. It's been ages since I've been on here and there are a few names I recognise, all beginning to pop!

Abs + Angus 7 months ( how did it go so fast??)

Hi there

Hi hun. Im Kirsti and have a little girl called Daisy who is 3.

When i was pregnant with her i bled for most of the first and second trimester. At 18 weeks my amniotic fluid started leaking. They measured her fluid every few days and at one point i was in hospital for a couple of days. Then i lost all my waters at 24 weeks and went into labour. She was born 2 hours later. They whisked her off and she had to live in an incubator for a little while and have oxygen as her little lungs wern't strong enough. She was in hospital for 4 weeks then was allowed home. Now she is a healthy 3 year old who is currently putting make up on the dog
Babies are tougher than you think hun. Amniotic fluid does replace itself so tell her not to worry and to just get rest.
The technology they have nowadays is amazing. They can save babies born at 22 weeks.
Tell her not to worry alothough i know how hard it is.

Praying for your friend and her little angel

Kirsti, Daisy and 24+1 bump

Hope i can help

When i was pregnant with Ben i had bleeding from 7 weeks to 22 weeks, i then had a good few weeks untill 32 weeks when all movement stopped. I was scanned and the fluid level was low, they scanned every week after that and it was getting lower and lower. By 38 weeks i had no fluid left and my blood pressure was rising so they decided to induce me. The following day Ben Riley Mcardle was born weighing 5lb 12. He was small at birth but healthy and the hospital had no worries. They cant understand why the things happened in pregnancy but Ben wasnt affected. Please let your friend know my story as it might help her.

Jodie and Ben 9 weeks tomorrow
