Midwife appointment today

Hi I have my 2nd midwife appointment today and I was just wondering what to expect and what she will be doing????

Heya

At my 15wks appt my midwife did the triple test (for downs)
Had a little feel of my bump
Checked my urine
Checked my blood pressure
Filled in my green notes with my blood test results from 12wks.

Hi there

In theory your midwife should be checking your blood pressure, your urine, possibly babies heartbeat although some areas dont check this till later on in the pregnancy and you will also have bloods taken for the triple test should you wish them to be done, and if you do have this test done they will also weigh you.

I had the bloods taken and they showed a problem with babies growth which was further picked up on a level 2 ultra sound scan, which im now being closely monitered for but the choice is yours. The tests dont actually diagnose a problem but they give an indiction as whether there might be any problems such as spina bifida or downs, and on the other hand they will also indicate that everything is progressing well with baby and the pregnancy.
