20 weeks scan, placenta previa

hey ladies!!

just felt like having a little moment!

I'm feelin very very gutted, I have had my 20 week scan today and have found the placenta is fully covering my cervix, meaning i will now need consultant lead care, and if it does not shift i will HAVE to have a c-section, such a dissapointment and shock when I had my heart set on a home birth, I really did not want to have my baby in hospital, i hate them! i have been booked for another scan on the 10th of Oct, (my due date is 24th Nov) so I will be 34 week, to see if the placenta moves, which really leaves me no time for buying a birthing pool if the placenta does move!

I know as long as she is safe and healthy i should not mind how she arrives, but i really wanted the calmness of being at home, well as long as she is safe and arives healthy i know i will be overjoyed,

so fingers crossed for me ladies!!

Hey

hey my friend had the same they scaned her again at 28 weeks and its moved hopefully yours will 2

Hey hun

I dont really have anything extra to say as the ladies on here have already let you know theres a chance it could move on its own. I know how gutted you must be feeling that the possibility of a homebirth seems unlikely now as my last child was due to be a homebirth till i went into prem labour.

On a happier note welcome to the PINK club, there seems to be a few of us who are all expecting little girls at the moment.

Take care.

Fingers crossed . .

i have my fingers crossed that it moves up for you, my friend had this and when she went for her 34 week scan it had moved and she had a natural labour,

Maybe with your pool you could speak to a few suppliers and see if they will hold one for you, If you explain the situation they might be willing to help!

Hey hun, really sorry that that your feelin down about it all.

It could move at the last minute, and totally surprise you!!

Sorry but I like to be honest... anything could happen towards the last weeks that would mean that a home birth would be out the question anyway. So please don't get your hopes up, as I have known a few people that have been dissapointed in the last few weeks.

I have my fingers totally crossed for you as I think home births are fab!! I would love one but had a really bad time with my first and and just too scared that somthing will go wrong. I had an emergency section with my first and it really wasn't that bad, well can't be as I am opting for one this time lol! I did feel like a failure last time but that was my own insecurities as a woman and my body just didnt react to labour. So my thought is this time if I know that's what is happening, then I'll be ok... fingers crossed.

Hope your ok, and sorry for the downer bit but it's best to be prepared for dissapointment.

Oh hun

I'm gonna keep my finger's crossed for your placenta moving then you don't have to have a c-section. My placenta shifted in the space of a week from back to the top.

Not much else I can say hun but hope everything goes well.

Love Toni, Rhys (1) and Lily bump (27+4) x x x
