head engaged 38 weeks

Heh there, I'm awaiting baby number 2 - i'm 38 weeks.

Today the Midwife said the head was certainly engaged. It wasn't this time last week! She said she couldn;t move the head at all and it was fixed?

Just wondering if any second time mums noticed when baby came after being told this?
I thought the head didn't engage till labor was about to happen in subsequent pregnancies?

Cheers, Newbie and 38wk bump

Hey

I also thought with 2+ babies that they didnt engage at all until the birth. My midwife also said they dont engage cos the muscles arent as tight down there.

Anyway with baby #2 i was admitted in hospital for a few days with high BP at 37wks & i asked several MWs & they all said baby was around 3/5ths engaged.

Then at my 38wk MW appt baby was still around 3/5ths engaged. The next day i had a sweep & baby arrived a few hours later.

Take care
