Just had midwife check up

Hey ladies and bumps

So i just saw a mw (not mine as shes away getting married) but someone from the same time and she came with a trainee.
Everything is fine, urine, babys heartbeat, blood pressure.

But my bump is measuring 23cm and im 25wks today. She said its nothing to be worried about at all. But as its me im abit paranoid the baby is not growing as it should. Anyone else had this and it just been fine?

I'm measuring small

Hi,

I measured small with my daughter, was 33cm at my 38week appointment, sent me for a scan and all was fine. Sonographer said that diff midwives measure in diff ways and sometimes they just measure in the wrong place by mistake and that not to worry too much about the measurments as they don't really mean anything. Some people just measure small as they carry the baby in a position that means that a lot f it is 'in' their body and not sticking out in a bump, does that make sense?

I'm measring small again this time, was 31cm at my 34 week check.

The important things to pay attention to are the movements, as long as baby is moving lots and heartbeat is fine, they are healthy and thriving!

I was the same as that, my midwife said that they give you 3cm either way i measured the same as you at 25 weeks and had my 28 week appointment and measured 27cm so it can change quite quick.

i know that its hard not to worry but if they thought there was a problem they send you straight for a scan, my friend had this done as she was measuring small, and when she gave birth he was 8pound 8 ounces.

Thank you for replying. I instantly start to worry so its good to know that it doesnt necessarily mean there is something wrong.
I measured perfect at my 20wk scan (i was actually 20+6) but was measuring bang on for my dates. So this time around was just a shock. I have my own mw doing another check at 27wks so hopefully by then i will have grown abit or at least it not be bad news that i havent grown at all.
