work

Heya everyone...
Bit of a rant im afraid....
Well ever since I told my work im pregnant, i have been treated completly differently, and today has reeeeeeeeeeeeealy stressed me out.... All my training has stopped and ive been given all the shitty jobs that no-one else wants.

Today I have been shouted at and told that im not doing enough work, I havent had a lunch break as I was trying to prove them wrong and do as much work as I could.......and in the end just burst into tears..
I just dont think its healthy for me or baby girl to be sooo stressed out and upset just becoz of work, and plus im in agony with this sciatica, and the stress is giving me awful head-aches, and im having lots of problems sleeping, but no-one at work understands this.

Can a mid-wife sign u off work or does it have to be a doctor? As im seeing my mid-wife next week?

Sorry to go on, but i really dont know what to do

Thanks

Stressed out Kat and 23+2 Pink Bump xxx

keep your chin up

it is not worth there jobs to make you feel harassed whilst pregnant!!
you should talk to your hr department or sit and say to your manager you feel like you are being discriminated against because you are pregnant!! that will soon hush them down im sure

i dont think your midwife can sign you off but im sure if she feels it is nessicary she will run and ask one of the docs to action t for you probally there and then!!

Hi

You should not be treated any differently at work just because you are pregnant. They should make changes to your job if it is deemed that some of your work is likely to put you at risk. They should have done a health and safety audit when you told them you were pregnant.

You could speak to your GP or midiwfe at getting signed off but you need to be careful that you don't give your employers cause to start your maternity leave to early.

I would be inclined to ask to speak to my manager and express my concerns and ask why the training has been stopped and why you are being harrassed.Have a look on the governmenet website and it will explain what duty your employer has to you.

Take care

Hiya

Hi Kat, i was signed off with my first with sciatica but had to go through the doctor.

I think you have to go through your doctor but if your MW apt is in a doctors surgery she might be able to get the doctor to see you, there and then, esp if work is affecting you so much.

It's really no good to be getting stress-related headaches in your condition, stress can also affect your BP. I think that some time out will do you the world of good Don't forget you can have a few days on the sick before having to have a note.... Long weekend coming up??

Just think of yourself and your baby at the moment. Don't feel guilty if you need time out...

Good luck!

Hey

Sorry hun I dont know the answer to your question bout the MW being able to sign you off.

But your work should not be treating you any different to before you were pregnant. I had similar issues when I was pregnant with my daughter so in the end my OH and I sat down and wrote a letter to my boss and explained my concerns and he took me into his office and we had a big chat, after that things went back to how they were before, I think he knew that there was a lot I could find out about rights at work and discrimination while pregnant and we got a lot sorted and the rest of my time at work was quite pleasent.

Hope all works it all works it out sweetie
