Baby has turned

Hi all,

I went to see my midwife today for my 36 week check and was told that the baby was now breech. Two weeks ago the baby was in the perfect position, facing the right way and just marking time before the 4th October., Now it's all gone ... up!

I noticed loads of movement over the past week, not kicking as such, just waves of movement. That explains it huh?! So I have an enormous hard lump just above my belly button which is tender to touch (try telling my 20 month old daughter that!) The midwife has booked me in to see a Consultant next Tuesday where they will do a scan to confirm the presentation and if by some miracle it's not breech, they will check to see whether I am favourable for a sweep as I am having heaps of problems with my bladder and just need this baby out! If it is breech as they think, they will check to see whether there is enough room for them to turn him. I hear that it's excrutiatingly painful so I would rather they didn't, but I don't much fancy a C Section either.

Hmmm, confused. Any advice?

Lesley xx

Hey hun

I found out at 40 weeks my baby was breech and probably had been for some time and the docs/mw kept saying he was head down...how wrong!!!!
Anyway, they tried to turn him and it is the WORST pain I have ever felt and I can tolorate a lot of pain, I had to ask them to stop!! I ended up having a C-Sec and losing just over 4 pints of blood!! They couldnt stop me bleeding and I am sure trying to turn him so late affected my uterus and added to my problems!!!
MW will always try and get you to deliver breech babies vaginally its just the docs that want to do C-Sec so you do have an option hun xx

Anyway, Im sorry if this isnt what you wanted to hear but I wish someone had told me how painful it was, I would have just opted for a c-sec then!!

I hope your bubby turns back before xx

Your post has worried me - my bubs has been head down since my 20 week scan so they say at each check lol - but i always have hard lump just under my ribs - when i asked MW she said it was his bum?? but i have thought that it didnt feel right since bout 30 weeks i really think he might be breach to but every time i ask her she says no his def head down and engaged I dont quiet believe her... .

Sorry now about you - I have heard that its painful to but i dont think as much as labour at all - i suppose if you can put up with the pain and he does you'll save yourself 6 weeks of scar pain from a c-section suppose thats the best way to look at it... just try and bit your tounge and hope he turns - or i heard get on all fours and rock back and forth and round etc might be able to encourange him to move - or is it to small in there now??

Sorry im not much help at all!!

Hope he turns for you...
