When did people...

start showing and finally admit defeat and buy maternity clothes?

I am 15 +5 and have admitted defeat and bought some maternity trousers for work and i'm going to go shopping for some tops for work. It's really awkward cos i'm at that in between stage that i am sure everyone has or will experience. I just don't know what kind of tops to buy cos my bump still looks like i've eaten far too many pies and my normal clothes are too tight but maternity tops are too big.

What has everyone else done?

Hope ladies and bumps are all ok.

Love

Hah!

I'm only 10 weeks pregnant and I'm already in my "fat day" skirts and have bought a couple of maternity tops. New Look has some nice stuff that is just sort of longer at the front than at the back, so doesn't look too billowy if you're not showing much yet. I'm nowhere near showing, but I've been feeling so sick and bloated with indigestion that my usual clothes have just felt way too constrictive and uncomfortable. When I was pregnant with dd1, I held out for the longest time before buying maternity tights (so expensive) but once I'd cracked and bought some, I wondered where they'd been hiding all my life!

I'm going to get my maternity trousers out of the loft soon - I always found that they fell down anyway - even when I was 40 weeks - so I'll get out my trusty braces too

I agree!

I am struggling cause I need smart trousers which cost alot normally. I am 8 + 4 and I am really bloated lots of indigestion and TMI having issues with flatulence!!!

It was so bad in a meeting today, it was all I could do to stop from farting!

Hope this does not get worse as I go on!!!!

I am not joking!!!

I am almost 8 weeks and i am showing already! My tum is usually flat and size 8/10 i am wearing size 14 leggings and they feel uncomfy on my now non existant waist!! And to think the possibility of twins was mentioned.......i am thinking quads at least!!!! My doc thinks its just all the muscles relaxing but i am no t eating anywhere near the amount i did!!! I must go shopping for long baggy tops as i know people at work and the gym are staring and speculating.

HELP!!!

Leggins and long tops!!!

hi ladies!

well... i'm now at 30 weeks so am officially in my mat wear! but before that all fitted...my first solution was to use a hairband round my regular trouser button and had a bump band to cover it up! (New Look do a set of 3 bump bands for abou £10!! the cheapest i have seen and they are good qaulity!) then when that was uncomfy into leggings and long tops soo nice and comfy!

i also find the best fitting mat trousers are the ones with the strechy panel at the sides rather than the back!!

gem and lilly!!

leggings!!

Hey I am still in the inbetween stage where maternity trousers are too big and my normal work jeans are too small, so went out and bought some maternity leggings and long tops.... they are sooooooooooooooo comfy!! Think i might just live in these now, and plus they are cheap and u can wear lots of different tops and shoes with them...

Hope this helps

I'm not convinced..

I have the legs for leggings!!!

I work in an office and have to wear a suit, managed to get some comfy maternity trousers but i am having a problem with my tops. My blouses are fitted and the jumpers i use to wear were small and i haven't been able to wear them for ages.

Never thought it would be so difficult, wouldn't change a thing tho.

Thanks for your help.

Hey hun

Hey

I was about 19 wks or so by the time i admitted that i really had to buy maternity troussers, but its been mosty for work and maternity leggings. Apart from that im still wearing my normal jeans although i do have maternity ones also just in case i grow out of my normal ones too quickly (they are still actually a lil big on me lol.
I havent need to buy any maternity tops yet as most my t-shirts and vests etc are still fitting fine

So i would say its different for everyone, it really depends on the womans body shape and how fast her bump grows! But you dont have to buy maternity clothes you can just buy something you like in a bigger size

Emmy & 26+3 bump

Hey

I tried getting the bigger size in my suit trousers and they were like clown trousers every where else.

Think i have the wrong body shape for it to be generous to me!!!

Think i'm just gonna have to try alsorts of different styles and sizes and see what happens.

Thanks for your help

15+1

i have had to buy maternity trousers not tops.
i have had to buy maternity jeans but with the adjustable buttons on so they will grow with me and i really need work trousers mine are diggin into my bump/flab!! lol and are so uncomfertable especially sat at a desk!!
with tops i have bought a few that are a baggier style but apart from that i wear my normal tops just they are more fitted over my tummy but im lucky as it looks like a bump and it quite hard like a bump it looks ok.
cant believ i am showing so quickly madness but if i hear one more person say god your big ooohh are you sure it is one in there!! ha ha i will kill them!!
