Told the girls...
So, I sat all the girls down before bed the other night and was reading them a bedtime story (about becoming a big sister, actually - how perfect that Em picked it!) and it turns out telling them about Tim and everything was way easier than I expected. Annie got to asking about the daddy in the book, so I kind of took that as a cue to fill them in on Tim being their dad and Russ being the baby's and Sophie's dad. They were all like, okay, whatever, but Daddy is still our Daddy right? They mean Russ...I just said, of course he is, and we all love you and we are a big happy family, all of us together. Then we had some milk and settled down for another book before they all hit the sack. Perfect...way less stressful than I thought it would be! Thanks for your help, girls, especially Lou!
Speaking of the baby, just realized I'm actually 38 weeks this Friday! Oh, goodness...don't know if I'm even ready yet! Haven't had any pain or anything yet, so that's good. Going in for a check on Tuesday, but I have to lug all the girls with me because Russ has a work meeting...ugh! A woman who is about to give birth has to lug around six-year-old twins and a five year old?
Another thing, have any of you with older kids noticed that your kids (daughters especially) seem to "play" being pregnant or having a baby around the time you are due? The girls seem to like that as their new favorite game...is this weird?
Thanks, girls, and I hope to be on here soon with news of my first son's birth!!!
Love,
Claire, Russell, Anna (6), Emma (6), Sophia (5), and "38-wk Jude Bump" DeBalleviere
