Told the girls...

So, I sat all the girls down before bed the other night and was reading them a bedtime story (about becoming a big sister, actually - how perfect that Em picked it!) and it turns out telling them about Tim and everything was way easier than I expected. Annie got to asking about the daddy in the book, so I kind of took that as a cue to fill them in on Tim being their dad and Russ being the baby's and Sophie's dad. They were all like, okay, whatever, but Daddy is still our Daddy right? They mean Russ...I just said, of course he is, and we all love you and we are a big happy family, all of us together. Then we had some milk and settled down for another book before they all hit the sack. Perfect...way less stressful than I thought it would be! Thanks for your help, girls, especially Lou!

Speaking of the baby, just realized I'm actually 38 weeks this Friday! Oh, goodness...don't know if I'm even ready yet! Haven't had any pain or anything yet, so that's good. Going in for a check on Tuesday, but I have to lug all the girls with me because Russ has a work meeting...ugh! A woman who is about to give birth has to lug around six-year-old twins and a five year old?

Another thing, have any of you with older kids noticed that your kids (daughters especially) seem to "play" being pregnant or having a baby around the time you are due? The girls seem to like that as their new favorite game...is this weird?

Thanks, girls, and I hope to be on here soon with news of my first son's birth!!!

Love,

Claire, Russell, Anna (6), Emma (6), Sophia (5), and "38-wk Jude Bump" DeBalleviere

Thanks, ladies!

Thanks, Kirsti and Lou!

Yep, I feel SO much better already! Much less nervous, and the girls are happy as can be, so that's good. Yeah, Kirsti, you are right! They walk around with pillows up their shirts and then say they've had a baby when it is out haha - no breastfeeding yet! They haven't really seen that, but I'm sure that'll start when we get Jude since I'll be nursing him. Ugh, do they play in public like that? How am I to tell them it's not okay for them to do that in public when I do it in public with the baby? Guess that can wait until it actually happens, right?

Now, I just found out Russ is going away on business on Friday and won't be back until Tuesday morning! Is he insane? Wife about to give birth here! Luckily he is only going to Paris, so not too far from home. But still, me, huge as can be, home with three busy bouncy girls! Not a fun time...

Sorry for the drag...talk to you all soon!

Claire

Hey hun

They always take it how you least expect lol! I know exactly what you mean about little girls playing at being pregnant! My daughter Daisy is 3 and just latley she has been sticking a cushion up her top and carry a baby round and pretending to breast feed!! Ha ha

Hope the next 2 weeks fly by for you. I know what it's like having to lug kids round with you when you're so pregnant! I have to walk up to school with Daisy every afternoon then go pick her up again after It's made my ankles swell ARRHHH lol
