Had a show.

Morning mummies bumps and babies.

For the mummies who have already had a baby i was wondering how long after having a show did you go in to labour. I posted yesterday saying i have been having irregular pains since the previous night and feeling a lot of pressure down below and then today when i went to the toilet i noticed id had a show.

Any advice would be great appreciated.

About 36 hours!

Hi Katie

I had a show at about 8pm on the saturday after having period like pain all day, i had to go into hospital the next day to be monitored for a couple of hours due to having a c-section with my first child. When i got there on the sunday about 2pm, they told me i was in labour and that i couldnt go home and it was 8am on the monday that my daughter was born, so i'd guess 24 to 48 hours from show to birth.

xxxx

What was your show like?

I had a show with Calum- it was all blood which means that labour can be within 48hrs. I had pains overnight and about irregular the next day (thought it was more intense bh's) the day after my show I went into labour at 9pm and Calum was born 7.50am next morning. I was a bit scared as I always thought the show would be discarge with bits of blood in it but this was all blood!

Hope all is good, good luck.

Hello

Hiya,

just thought i would reply to you quickly, with my first (he was 10 days overdue) i had my show at about 5am in the morning and pains started shortly after but quite irregular, but couldnt sleep as i knew he was coming, so came downstairs and started timing them and they were between 10 - 20 mins apart, so jumped in the bath to make sure they were the real thing and they stayed while i was in the bath so then i knew it was for real, i stayed at home but rang delivery suite and they told me just to stay calm and i sounded as if i was doing great!!!! By 12 midday i was in quite abit of pain and headed for hospital and he was pulled into the world by ventouse and episiomity at 10.04pm but only because i had an epidural and couldnt feel any of my contractions!!!!

With number 2 it was totally diffrent, i got up at 7am (2 days before my due date) and thought i was in labour having odd pains etc but didnt think much of it , then told my Oh not to go to work as i thought i was in labour, by 7.30am i was having strong contractions and they were only 7 mins apart, so started to get ready and had to drop my little boy to his nan which is a mile away, by 8.30am i was having them every 4 minutes and only just dropped my little boy off, then headed for the hospital, got to hospital at 9.20am due to rush hour traffic and Lilly was born at 11am with no show or anything to warn me she was comin!!!!

Hope thats been some help and ive not just babled at you.

Lots of love

becky, Josh (nearly 3), Lilly (7 months) & 13+5 bump
