Just a fill in.....

Hi all,

Just tought I would give an update on how stuff is going and have a general chat, am bored!

I saw the midwife yesterday ( not my usual one as she was on holiday, not that she told me that when she booked this appointment, Only manners but think she should have!) Anyway, I think she is generally useless anyway so wasn't overly bothered and the midwife covering was really nice, and actually told me stuff!

Can't remember if I posted on mon, but I spent the day in hospital as feet, ankles and hands were swollen, I had trace of protien in my urine and my blood pressure was high, But after monitoring me few a few hours I was sent home as all syptoms were mild, and I haven't had any headaches or blurry vision or anything, and because I had my midwife appointment on thurs they know I would be checked again soon, but under the condition that I rested, kept my feet up and went straight back if anything got worse.

So have been doing my best to rest, which is very difficult with a 21 month old! But the swelling in my feet has gone down so thats good.

So as I was saying at the start, saw midwife yesterday, still got trace of protien in urine and high blood pressure but since everything else is fine and I have a growth scan on tues (which I will be seeing the consultant afterwards, so he will do blood pressure and urine again) midwife was quite happy.

Midwife reckons my baby has turned from having back on the left, to having back on the right, so need to bounce on my ball and get it back round to the left! I had noticed it turn as the cord was pushed up against my tummy for a couple of mins (could feel really strong pulsations) then all settled again.

Also she reckons that baby is 3/5 engaged, which means that 2/5 of its head are engaged and 3/5 are out. Sounds back to front to me but thats how they measure it!

She measured my bump as 37cm, which she measured twice to make sure. Which just goes to show that my own midwife really must have measured me wrong two weeks ago saying I was 31cm at 37 weeks! I tell you she really is useless! As I can tell you that I definately haven't grown 6 cm in 2 weeks!

I am off out in a bit o my mum's. we are going to go into town and she is going to buy me a load of meals from COOK which are frozen proper home cooked meals, so i wont have to worry about cooking for the first week or so when baby arrives, which is great! I love my mum!

Hope everyone and their bumps are doing well!

Kat, Avilee (21 months) and 39 week today bump!

Hi again

Samie, I think as long as swelling isn't too bad and protien isn't too high, then its nothing really to worry about, but should keep an eye on and try to rest as much as possible. Which I know is difficult to do as there is so much stuff we all want to do before baby arrives!

Em's thanx for the message, very sweet of you!

Yeah everything is going well, now that the house is in some kind of order I'm beginning to relax and think that baby can now arrive. I have even started to allow myself to get fed up with being pregnant and want the baby here now! However really don't want to do labour again!

SPD has been getting really bab and my sciatica is really playing up too, not to mention baby trying to constantly escape out my tummy button!

But not long now hopefully!

Take Care

Kat, Avilee (21 months) and 39+2 week bump!
