terrified about second labour!

Hiya, am 10 week preg with second baby, my first is 7.5 months now. Had straight forward 10 hour labour with first, only prob being i was pushing for over 2 hours. I wasnt too nervous about labour before-hand. However this time round am terrified of going through process again.
Anyone else feel like this x

Hi hun,

I wouldn't worry i think its normal to worry about the birth its like knowing you have to shut your finger in the door but try and remember about after the pain its only there for such a short while really and then after you have this little baby to cherish and it makes it all worth while.

I only got 5 days to go and i cant wait to go into labour i had alot of problems in my first labour and i still managed to enjoy it i though it was amazing and i know that i can handle the pain i did then ill do it again..

You have 30 weeks to prepare yourself and by 39 weeks trust me you will want the baby out no matter how much it hurts lol...

Love Sammie - Mya - no name blue bump 39+2 xx

Moi!

Hi,

this is my fourth and after 2 text book delivery's i had the birth from hell with my 3rd and we both nearly died. I was in theatre for 3 hours and they wouldn't tell my OH if i would make it. Babies heart stopped in me but they still managed to save him. They said that they had never known of a baby and mother surviving such a birth! I had placenta abruption. So, needless to say i am really crapping myself and the bigger i get and nearer to d-day i am haunted with what if's....

Most my MW's are really supportive and say that i can deliver normally this time but 1 said that the bigger i get i am a ticking time bomb. I saw my consultant who said that just because it happens once does not mean it will happen again.

So, what do i think? I am trying to stay positive and am willing myself to have a quick, normal delivery.

One thing for sure, the baby has to come out - lol!

Try to stay focused. Second babies are usually much quicker that first ones!! I think we all crap ourselves and think about worst case delivery's ... Remind me, why are we doing this again??

hey hun

congratulations on bump number 2!

i have 13 months between my kids. i had a straightforward and very easy 9 hour labour with my first baby, but was pushing for 1.5 hours as he just wasnt having any of it and changed his mind about coming out. i had some stitches afterwards, but once they had gone, never gave it another thought.

i fell pg again when oliver was 4.5 months old and to be worried about labour the second time around never crossed my mind tbh?

anyway, my labour lasted under 2 hours with my daughter and i didnt even have to push to get her head out. the midwife had just examined me, said 3cm dilated, baby very high and i would be a few hours yet, so i went to go for a wee. as i was walking from the toilet back to my bed, said to my hubby i could feel the head crowning and when i looked down, her head was out! lol. they got me on the bed, one push with the next contraction and hello baby emilie!

i think the fact that you know what is coming this time is probably what is worrying you, but honestly hun, dont stress about the whole thing. what will be will be and there is nothing to say that your second labour will be anything like your first. although mine were both straightforward, drug free and pretty textbook really, they were very different in a lot of ways.

you will be fine!

love kelly, oliver almost 20 months and emilie, 6 months tomorrow!
xx
