Paint fumes????

Hey guys,

was just wondering if paint fumes can be harmful to baby??

I am currently decorating the nursery and was painting and i suddenly felt a bit dizzy and my heart was pouning out of my chest!!

I know that you shouldnt gloss while pregnant but i thought painting was ok???

Any advice girls??? i carried on painting anyway and seemed to be ok after a while, ( i had the window open etc).

Asked mw today at my appt as I am decorating nursey today.
She said matt paint is fine as long as you have a well ventilated room. But gloss can be dangerous.
It's when you're in 1st trimester that you have to worry really.

Paint fumes are bad for baby, I am starting babies room the weekend but im getting my OH and friend to paint it!! alittle tip is to cut an onion and leave it in the room as it gets rid of the smell aparently!!! hope this helps

Hey hun. I dont think normal paint is as bad as it use to be, Im sure they are safe, def not gloss tho. When my hubby painted the house I stayed at my mums just to be on the safe side. I didnt bank on being there for 2 weeks tho

I think you're alright if you keep the window open and have some ventilation. I know that paint fumes can make anyone dizzy if too many are breathed in. Baby is more protected than you think hunny so don't worry! You did the right thing by opening window.

Not sure i was told not to but i dont think that it can do damage specially if the room was well ventilated - have you finished? if not grab yourself a face mask.. .

I think Matt paints are ok and it is just the glossy ones. I think its worse when your in first trimester as its when baby is developing so everything shud be ok
