Didn't know you weren't allowed runny eggs!!!!

Hiya girls
I didn't realise you couldn't have runny eggs in pregnancy
I've eaten about 300 since getting preg
I've never been ill off them before though. I feel stupid now not to mention really bad!

ALSO

I didn't know you couldn't dye your hair

I've just dyed mine brown tonight

I feel such a bad mummy

I got my hair done and all good

i was pregantt with both of my kids and i got my hair with stikes in them and nothing was wrong with getting them done the only thing i found hard was the smell of the stuff.... that is one thing i did do and nothing went wrong

Hi Kirst,

I was discussing this with my hairdresser the other week, i was booked in for a wash, cut and dye, but cancelled the dye part as i, like you, thought you could not do it, she said that as lond as you have a test 24hours before the actual dying then it should be fine, but always consult the hairdresser first. Runny eggs, make sure they are stamped with the lion, means the flock have been vaccinated.

So munch away and don't worry about the hair dye thing.

Nonsense - i eat them all the time!

These days all chickens are vaccinated against salmonella so that chances of you getting it are incredibly slim and this is just another one of those things they (whoevere "they" are!) say you shouldnt do in pregnancy cos if you got Salmonella it could be harmful to bubs.

Even if there was no vaccine for chickens, most people are sensinble enought o cook out any white anyway before eating an aegg to this is just pointless scaremongereing that sadly so many pregnant pay attention to!

And hair dye - again rubbish - hair dye cant harn your baby!!!!!!!

Hair dye

The thing with dying your hair is that some chemicals can enter the bloodstream through the scalp and get to the baby. however, the amount is tiny and shouldn't really cause any problems. I would avoid it in future though.

As for runny eggs, don't worry. If you haven't been sick then you are fine!

Hi

as for the eggs, well its just to reduce the risk of selmonela (spelling?), i wouldnt let it worry you if you have been ok. there no other reason not to have eggs cos you can have hard boiled or scrambled.
the hair dye, im not 100% sure on this but i think its the fumes and apparantly your hair doesnt react well during pg, like i say not 100% on that one. i wouldnt beat yourself up about it, there loads of things youre not supposed to do during pg but i dont think theres many that stick to it 100% faithfully. im sure you and little bump will be fine
