breathless

Hi Ladies,

Im 21weeks and 1 day, and the lsat couple of days i have been getting breathless. its not so much that i cant breathe, but its like i cant haul enough air into my lungs. I woke up at half past bloomin 4 this morning feeling like this. Does anyone else frrl like this and know how to prevent it. Im off to the dr this afternoon about it but reckon im gonna be told its one of those things to do with being pregnant!

The dr said that as well, well he said basically put up and shut up! But to make things easier, not to lie flat, but on my side, and to put some cushions behind me to open out my rib cage a bit.

Hi there,
It's normal to start getting breathless but it could also be a sign of anemia. Are you feeling EXTRA tired and a little cold at all? Maybe ask your MW to take some bloods on your next visit if you're feeling the same. I have been feeling the same and have just had my bloods back and am borderline anemic. I will get some iron tablets off my doctor....

hey yes i get this too, its quite normal and im afraid gets worse. its not constant, depends on on how the baby is lying, but often you will get it when ur not even doing anything, ie just sitting down

the only thing i can advise to slightly ease it is keep a good posture, it doesnt get rid of it, but helps a bit

ur baby is growing so ur organs are being pushed and sqaushed

im big myself and due to thyriod meds have put on 4 stone in last yer i think u should get your iron checked as mine was low and i felt like that i dont think its anythink to do with being overweight it may be just the way baby is laying are u carrying high xxx
