sweep...

I went to see my MW this morning, and she changed my due date back to the 3rd rather that the 5th, which means my induce date is now 17th rather than the 19th, which I am SO SO SO please about...

She also gave me a sweep... Oh Err! Nothing has happened as yet, baby is still moving alot and I'm still not fully engaged!

Wouldn't mind this baby out sometime before Xmas!!!

I bet you are glad to have at least a couple of days shaved off the end!

I had a sweep last fri, on my due date, as was in hospital with high blood pressure and protien in urine so they thought they would give it a go, but nothing has happened.

Seeing midwife again today for blood pressure check and will ask if she will do another one, baby must be ready now!

Hope the sweep kicks everything off for you! Keep us posted!

Yeah am glad to have 2 days off then end... At least something will happen before next weekend!

Sorry to here your sweep didn't work, I have a feeling mine won't work too... But then I have a feeling everyday that "this will be the day" and it never is... So I give up on any 'feelings' I have...

Yeah...

I have that same feeling, everyday I have everything prepared just incase I go into labour, make sure the house is as clean and tidy as poss as don't want to come home to a mess and have food and stuff ready to send off with my daughter to my mum's, but then nothing happens.

I go to bed every night thinking will it all kick off now and every time I wake up I think if it starts now I'll give it an hour or so before waking my husband and parents as I want to give them as much rest as possible before baby arrives, then as morning approaches I think well thats another day and night with nothing, it must be today then! but again nothing happens.

Oh well, beginning to think this baby will never come! But really don't want to be induced so have to keep hoping!

I am with you both there!

As of 11am this morning, my sweep has officially "failed" (48 hours since the sweep). Am still hopeful....

Had a really bad case of the runs yesterday so we toddled off to hospital just to make sure that the baby was ok. They were really good at hospital but said that it was just one of those things and that the baby's trace was fine.

I had pains on and off, but they were really mild and not regular so I don't think anything is going to happen soon. I am booked in for Sunday for an induction when I will be officially a week overdue. I would rather not be induced, but I can't see any choice.

Woke with loads of energy this morning and did a huge shop at Tesco and then prepared some meals for my daughter and husband for the freezer, did some washing, unstacked the dishwasher and put all the food away. NOW I AM ABSOLUTELY KNACKERED!! I thought being on my feet may speed things along but all it has done is tire me out.

Oh, sorry to here your sweep hasn't worked Lesley... I have about 20 hours left on mine... Fingers crossed!

I, like Kat, think it's going to be every evening, but every morning I wake up exactly the same!

I started cleaning alot this week, trying to force myself to nest, which my Mum pointed out that it doesn't quite work like that... ha ha! I was doing loads of housework this morning really to keep active and keep my mind off any tiny like twinge I feel... But like you, am just shattered now and have a backache! Girly film time I think...

Lesley - you never know it may still work? will keep fingers crossed for you, at least they are only making you wait another week, I will be 14 days over when they induce me!

However - I saw the midwife earlier and she did another sweep, said that it was looking really good and she would hope that the sweep will have done the trick. When they did the sweep last week they gave me a Bishop score of 3 out of 12, whereas today she reckoned it was 11/12! So fingers crossed it really will work this time! However if it doesn't am going to be so dissapointed as came out feeling so elated that she had said it was all looking brilliant for delivery soon!

Girls- When you had your sweeps, did you have a show? Coz last night I had my show, and some more this morning... Am still holding out hope!

Yesterday I ate one whole pineapple, drank 4 raspberry leaf teas, v hot chilli, cleaning, went for a walk, and bounced until I was nearly sick on my gym ball... Surely it something would work! ha ha ha!
