Braxton hicks & rlt

Hey ladies and bumps

How are you all?

Im doing pretty ok apart from my legs getting alot more tired lol
Only got 2 weeks left at work till maternity leave so im happy about that but also scared as its the definite countdown to labour

Anyhow ive got 2 questions, one is about braxton hicks....what do they feel like? ive read about it but i dont know if its what im experiencing Sometimes, lets say maybe once or twice in a day or somedays not at all, i get this kind of tightening on my bump, i notice it more near my belly button and feel like my belly is going to split in to because it gets so tight, also its only seems to be where baby is as the bottom of my tummy doesnt get that feeling. It may last for a couple of minutes max. Could it be braxton hicks? surely i should be experiencing them by now?

Also with the rlt from when should i start drinking it? and is it more effective in the tea or the pill? also i heard someone saying pineapple is good when should i start that and is it a whole big pineapple every day?

Sorry for the questions i just really want to try what i can as i really dont want to get to christmas pregnant still ( i would be 41wks)

Thanks

Emmy & a super active pink bump 31+1wks

Hi

Hi there,

I don't want to go over either and have been reading up on it. I always said i wouldn't have it because i had a traumatic birth with my last and he was the only one i took it with. Anyway, i now know that a fall i had contributed to the birth and not the RLT.... Anyway, i was reading yesterday that if taken from 32 weeks and during trials women have gone into labour on average at 38 weeks. With my last labour i started at 37 weeks (that's the one i took it with). I think i will wait till about 34 weeks and then start taking the tablets as the tea is vile!! I tried the tea last time and swiftly moved on to the tablets a few days later - lol. I think pineapple is better taken nearer the time of delivery to be effective. My friend took RLT and has recent;y given birth at 38 weeks...

I am having braxton hicks and sometimes they are quite painful. I notice them nearer the top of my stomach but sometimes have a tightening lower with a bit of pain too.... Some days i don't really notice them and others i really notice them.... I have read that they can happen all the way through pregnancy and some women just don't notice them.

I am getting worried about labour too, we are def counting down now..... I hope it's is very smooth and quick.... Some of the girls on here have had brilliant labour's!!

Take care!

Hiya hun

Just nipped over from B+T
As the other girl said, yes you're getting BH. They are normal and sound exactly as you describe.
RLT can be started from 32 ish weeks. I started taking it at 33 weeks in the tablet form as the tea is absolutly RANK! I took one tablet a day at first then as the weeks went on I added another tablet on so by the time I was 37 weeks I was taking 5 a day I think it was. It def helped me in my labour (read my birth story on here ) I nearly had him in asda lol. It was amazingly quick and pretty much pain free. I managed on ONE puff off gas and air and 2 paracetamol
As for pineapple etc.. I had 3 pineapples in my 36th week of pregnancy and had him at 37+4 Don't know if that helped or not but I was feeling pretty sick the week I ate them and it helped the sickness a little too.
When I was 36 weeks I decided to try get him out as I was sick of being preg!! I tried curry, sex, walking, bumpy roads, clary sage ( don't try this brings on horrid braxtons!! ) hot baths, pineapple, castor oil... EVERYTHING and nothing seemed to work. So when I reached 37 weeks I decided to stop trying and let baby come when it was ready. I gave birth 3 days later I also got in a big argument the night before with my daughters friends mum!! Long story lol but I think that helped too.

Sorry for waffling on! Hope I helped some?

Love and hugs from Kirsty, Daisy (3) and Jack (4 days old )
