Swine flu injection

Hi ya Ladies and Bumps,

I was wondering what you will all be doing about having the swine flu jab that becames avalible on wednesday? My Doctor has told me that it will be avalible at my surgery in about a week or so time and is strongley advicing me to have it beacause of being preganant and because of having astma, but i must say im quite nervous about having it, simply as it is all very new, ive had the normal flu jab without any probs but i just wanted to hear what all you ladies are thinking of doing.

Take Care all

Hey

Personally Im not having the jab.. only because I have heard, it really has not been tested enough, especially for pregnant women. My mother in law told me this as she is a practioner nurse so she does get to hear things..

Hope this helps.

Hello

If I wasnt due next week I would probably have it, I generally dont like the idea of filling your system with medications, but I have asthma too, so I understand that its a double complication for us.

I really wish the news would just shut up about it, I am fine untill I hear about another pregnant woman dying! Yes its incredibly sad for their families but pregnancy is scary enough without all this going on.

Hun, I would talk to your GP about it, as you have asthma you might be better off having it, but it is as Amanda said a personal decision.

Let us know what you decide.

Hi emma!

Hi there, swine flu-do you remember all my posts on this and arguments - lol? I left this forum and came back a few weeks later once a few things had come out in the press.

Anyway, i think that we all know that it was and is totally blown out of proportion. Last Saturday we went to dinner with a GP. He left the NHS and now practices alt medicine and does research into vaccinations and the likes. There is no way i would put this poison into my body, def not if pregnant. Anyway, i asked his opinion as i thought this might come up. He said under NO circumstances have this vaccination. He told me to not even give my baby the vitamin K injection, only the drops and to wait till the baby was at least 24-48 hrs old before introducing the vit K to her body as it's very strong stuff. Obviously all injections are a big no-no for me and he confirmed my thoughts. It's not just the jab's, it's what they mix it with, mercury being one of the things (that is highly toxic to the body). Our immune system is amazing, we actually destroy it's ability by having vaccinations..... and soooooo much more.

He also told my that the HPV vaccine would cause a lot of girls to become sterile and that not enough research had been done on the matter. He told me that our immune system can deal with HPV. I had HPV years ago and now there is no trace in my body (immune system took care of it).

My parents always have flu jab and always get the flu...??

It's personal choice at the end of the day, totally up to the individual. I just know what i will be doing with myself and baby and thought i'd share that with you. You must do what you feel right.

Maybe do some research on the internet on vaccinations.

Take care!

I dont know

I'm worried about this too.

It's not conclusive but my uncle had whooping cough injection as a baby, suffered a massive fit and he is unable to talk. I am worried that something similar might happen to our baby.

However if you do get flu the risks to pregnant women with other conditions are higher-diabetes, asthma, epilepsy etc and can result in still birth, miscarriage etc. But apparently the flu is mild.

I think my husband and I already had it in the first wave. I had tamiflu which made me very sick. But that doesnt mean that it hasnt mutated by now which would mean I could get it again, since I work in a school I'd say my chances of getting it are high!

There is supposed to be a report on the effects to unborn babies when the vaccination is released. The NHS choices website might help
