18wks and no movements - worried

Hey ladies

I will be 18wks tomorrow and as yet have not felt baby move!!! I thought I had made a note when I 1st felt Ellie move but looking back over my pregnancy dairy I havent but I did note that at 20+ wks she was proper kicking me!!!! I'm gutted I didnt make a note of it especially now I want to look back on it but the idea for the dairy was to give to Ellie when she is older so she could see how everything was with her.

Anyways, as you know this is my 2nd pregancy and I thought and have been told I would have felt baby move around 16 wks but nothing and although I heard the heartbeat last week and the week before it just worries me!!!! This morning just after waking I was lying in bed on my back and my belly went hard and stayed like it for about 5 mins or so I have to say it could have been baby turning and sticking its bum out but I'm not convinced.

I suppose I really just want to know when anyone else felt 2nd or more pregnancies move?

hey hun

well, for me, i felt my second baby at about 14 weeks. however, with her, i had my placenta at the back of my womb (anterior). with my son, my first pregnancy, my son, my placenta was the front (anterior) and i didnt feel him move really until i was about 23, maybe even 24, weeks. i felt the odd twinge earlier than that, but nothing that i could really call movement.

it might be that your placenta is at the front and so that is why the movements are taking a bit longer to feel.

i know it is hard not to worry, but try not to hun, its no good for you or the little bean. do you know anyone with a doppler? you are only down the road from me and i would say that you can have mine, but my pregnant friend has it at the moment!

Hey

Thanks Kelly, unfortunatly I dont know anyone with one but I have my scan in 2wks so hopefully I will feel something before if not I guess I will see at the scan - I will ask them to see where the placenta is!!

Cant beleive your little lady is already 28eks old - it has gone so quickly!!!

Hi Zoe,

I'm a little further on than you at 23weeks but it was only a few weeks ago that i was sure i felt him move. think i was about 19 weeks. With my first i didn't feel her until about 23-24 weeks. But now i can feel him bashing about in there.

Your tummy going hard may have been your lil bean rising out of your pelvis and what you felt may have been his/her back.

Hope i have helped hun, try not to worry
