Headaches and funny smell in wee (tmi )

Hey Ladies and bumps and new mummies,

I just wondered if anyone can shed any light on why at 18 weeks I have been getting really bad headaches that I cannot shift or what may be the cause of them?

Also, (TMI - sorry) when I go for a wee it smells a bit meaty like!?!?! Does anyone have any ideas why this maybe?

Hi zoe

I am with you on the headaches OMG how on earth can we get rid of them! Didn't have probs with wee but fancied some asparagus at bout 4 ish and OMG....never smelt anything like it!!!!!!! I am told by my personl trainer and nutritionist that its to do with stomach acid if that happens but its really offensive!
Not much help I am afraid but just thought i would say I can appreciate what you are going through!

Take care of you and your mini bump!

Hey hun

I can totally relate to the headaches since 16 weeks i have been getting headaches nearly every day at about 3pm and really painful toothache.

I asked the midwife about it and she said basically it's normal and to ride it out!!! Not what i wanted to here, i just take paracetamol and try ignoring it.

As for the wee sorry can't help you on this one!!

Take care

Love

Hey

Hey hun, if you are drinking a lot of fluid, (and no tea as this will dehydrate u) and it is still smelly and your headaches are when you feel especially tired i would go see your mw or gp. it could be blood pressure or a wee infection!
i would always be safe than sorry as if it is a urine infection your kidneys will start to hurt! well mine do grrr
hope all is well.

Hello

well the headaches i get those allot being pregnant i got them before so now it is just increased but paracetmol will help if you try to only take it when they are really bad or having a nap helps!! (if you can)

wee ................... my wee is usually very strong as i do not drink enough!!!! im terrible i always have been!! im trying but i jsut dont get very thirsty or tend to leave it until im nearly passing out!! lol

try to up your intake of fluids as dehydration can cause headaches smelly/strong wee constipation it is not great!!!

hope this helps

Hi zoe!

I am queen of smelly wee!! I know it's because i don't drink enough water. If i go my boys always comment afterwards Also, if i eat certain things i can smell it in my wee the next day, rather vile really, the worst is salmon, you can imagine......LOL

I suffered with headaches during this pregnancy, they got a lot better during my third trimester but i still suffer, i just can't shift them when i have one, we can't really take medication whilst pregnant so that doesn't help. When i asked my MW she said that it was probably caused by low blood pressure and to make sure i take plenty of fluids to avoid them - coffee is my number one i hate water.... I don't think coffee counts....

It sounds like you're not drinking enough or eating something that causes your smelly wee. If you have a history of pre-eclampsia maybe chat to your MW.

Try not to worry as headaches are common during pregnancy, it's yet another joy....

If you're really concerned see your MW.
