My birth story sorry it took so long!!
Hi ladies,
Well as you know i got taken in for a c section on monday 5th october!
I arrived at the delivery suite at 8am, to be told i was second on list and would be lunch time!! (I was starving!!!) so i got comfortable in my hospital nightie!!! 
At 11.30am they took me down to theatre! gave me epidural spinal block thing, laid me down then waited! it didnt work!! had to do it 3 times before i couldnt feel anything from my boobs down to my toes!! at 12.30 they started cutting me open!! And my little boy was pulled out at 12.46pm on the way out he wee'd all over me, the theatre staff, the midwifes trying to clean and weigh him!! eventually managing to weigh him, at 4lb 5ox (2020g) wrapped him up and handed him to my dad....who he wee'd over too!!!!!
Was still laid there at 13.20 being stitched and cleaned up....when i started feeling what they were doing!! they speeded up and mins later they were getting ready to take me to recovery!! thank god! said after all the epidural and stuff i should have been out for a week....but hey must like the stuff!! ha ha
They moved me into recovery and got me to try and breast feed before they took him to SCBU, at 3pm they came and took him from me, and moved me on to the ward....where my dad and adopted mum had to leave to let me rest. one of the midwifes came round and asked if i had any pictures, when i said no, she immediatly grabbed my camera and went and took some!! by the time she had got back to my room there was a porter with her that was here to take me to transitional care unit.....no one knew i was going there until this point!!
I got to TCU still with out my little lad, and waited till 5.30pm, when they finally brought him up from SCBU. He was perfect.....that night i was up and about and looking after my son....
We have called him Freddy Charles Walter Sowden after my grandads and his dads grandad!
by day 3 i had given up trying to breast feed and got him on bottled formula...was so stressful for me and him, couldnt see him like that!!
We had to stay on TCU for what was meant to be just a few days!! on saturday i got told by consultant it would be monday at least as they wanted to see another weight gain, as he started at 4lb 5 then dropped to 4lb 3, then dropped to 4lb 2, then went up to 4lb 3...he got weighed on monday and was back up to 4lb 4 so they let us go home!! finally at 5pm i was realesed from what felt like a prison!! ha ha
We got a visit from the midwife on Tuesday, then health visitor thursday, all family round at weekend...as we were not allowed visitors on TCU!!
Then Thursday just gone 22nd we had to go to hospital, Freddy has been on Antibiotics for his kidney, to make sure he doesnt get an infection!
WE went for an xray or so i thought, untill we got in there and they told me what they had to do...so we got him undressed, i had to wear a metal filled jacket, then it started, i got moved to end of bed where i had to hold his hands flat above his head!! then they got a tube and put it up his penis! (god that looked like it hurt) he was crying, i was crying not nice to see! they put some dye into his bladder then put xray machine over him, to see if the dye had gone back up into either kidney! if this was hapening then it could cause infections! luckily we were in the clear and my little man is sound!!
He still has to take anti biotics and we have a follow up appointment end of November, we still have to have scans done every now and then to see if cysts on his kidney are changing size (hopefully will go down eventually)
But he is great, sleeps for 3 to 4 hours at a time and is taking 70mls every 3/4 hours!! he is still a bit under weight and a bit short, but he doing well we had him weighed again thursday and he now weighs 4lb 15oz!! and he is filling out nicely!! will try get some pics up....but if you have access to face book, add us, im charlotte sowden, and Freddy is in my freinds list!! (grandad is a bit sad and made him a page) all photos from the day are on facebook, even some strange ones of me!!
