Think im in early labour

Ok so since about 3 this afternoon I have been having period like crampy pains in back and tummy, it seems to be happening every 20 minutes or so now and at first it was very irregular. Im not sure what Im suppose to do, or if it IS labour as the pains arent nice but they are not excruciating.

What do you ladies think? I havent had a show or anything.

Great stuff!! You could have had your show during sex, showering, etc and not noticed.... It sounds like you might be in early stages!!! You will know when you need to go down. Usually if your waters break fully the pains become a bit worse as there is no cushion.... Nice to start like you and build your way up....

Hurrahhhhhhh!! It's so exciting, keep us all updated

Good luck!! Thinking of you!!

Ooooohhhh

Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh sounds promising hun!!!!

My waters didnt break until I was already pushing my daughter out and they broke them as her head was on its way out!!!
I had a small show 2 days beofre but the night I went into labour when I was already contracting every 10 mins is when I had a proper show. That was about 2am and I had Ellie at 8.41am so could happen just before you have baby!!!

I found parcetamol did nothing but I did have a warm bath and it speaded things up - I was in the bath for just over 30 mins and they went from 10 mins apart to 4 mins apart!!!
I wasnt in much pain at all with labour so hopefully ypur a lucky one too!!

Good luch sweetie and let us know what happens.

Hi hun

This is exactly how my labour started... at 40+4 lol!!! Sounds like it's the start of things for you! Best thing to do would be to take some paracetamol, keep an eye on the pains and ring hospital just for some advice and see what they say, they will prob advise u to stay at home until the pains get stronger and closer together in a regular pattern, or if you can't move or talk through the contractions and can't cope with the pain at home anymore. I tried to keep as active as I could as it helps labour progress (if you have a birthing ball now's a good time to bounce on it or do a bit of squatting lol as it helps the head come down) also a bath helped ease the pains as they got worse. I had to wait until I was contracting 2 every 10 mins and then go in - I was quite far from the hopsital lol. I had no show until my first VE at the hospital (sorry TMI) and my waters didn't break until they broke them for me at the hopsital!

Good luck hun hope this is it for you

i think you most likely are in early labour, this is what happened to me, i had a show at midnight on the sunday night/ monday morn and had irregular pains all through the night, and on monday they got closer and closer and when they got to about 6-7 mins apart at about 7pm i went to hosp only to be told i was only 2cm dilated and to go home for a bit but at 9pm my waters broke and i had to go straight back in at 11.30pm i was fully dilated then by 1.30am tues morn she was here!!
if you ring the hosp they will probably talk to you and if you can talk through the contractions and they are not that close together they tell you to wait at home a little longer,
but i would say this is the start of things for you!!!
they told me to take paracetemol and wait for things to get stronger and closer together, but if you ring then at least they can tell you these things and they might ask you to come in and be checked or do what they said to me which was wait at home.
maisie was 5 days late too!!!
good luck hun and hope all goes well for you,
hope i have helped a little bit

xxxx
