Dating scans! ??

Hiya! Just wondered what happens at an officail dating scan? Will it be any different to when i have had my other ones??!
Will I see a midwife first, have to take a urine sample and will it be a doc or just sonographer who sees me?? I am hoping I won't get any surprises when it comes to dates - I am already massive - perhaps i am further than they think!!!! Heard the heartbeat with mw on wed - she found it straight away (good job as i was bit nervous beforehand!) 150 beats per min - wonder if it will be a boy although had been to a spin class just before! Also.....I heard somewhere it is poss to tell the sex from as early as 14 weeks? Anyone else heard this, or experienced this??

not quite sure, but i think it's just the sonographer who you see and they check some of the stuff like crown rump length to see what size the baby is so giving a more aproximate due date.
they can tell but depends how the baby is lying at the time of the scan.

that's all i know as such from reading up my pg books etc...
